Minecraft:Knockback

Template:Infobox enchantment Knockback is an Minecraft:enchantment applied to Minecraft:swords and Minecraft:spears that increases melee knockback.

Obtaining

Knockback can be obtained from Minecraft:enchanting tables, drops from mobs that have spawned in a Minecraft:raid,Template:Only books obtained by Minecraft:fishing, Minecraft:monster room chests, librarian Minecraft:villagers, and non-village Minecraft:structure loot.

Usage

Knockback increases horizontal melee knockback by 2.586 blocks per level. The base knockback of attacks without the enchantment and without doing a Minecraft:sprint-knockback attack is 1.552 blocks, causing an attack with Knockback II to deal 6.724 blocks of knockback.Template:More information needed Knockback also increases vertical melee knockback from 0.8125 blocks to 1 block, regardless of the level of enchantment. Sword Minecraft:sweep attacks are affected by the Knockback enchantment. The increased knockback from this enchantment stacks with sprint-knockback attacks.

Spear charge attacks done using a spear in the offhandTemplate:Only do not apply Knockback.<ref>Template:Bug</ref> If an attack from a Knockback weapon is blocked by a Minecraft:shield, the knockback effect doesn't apply in Template:JE but does in Template:BE. By use of Minecraft:commands to increase the level of enchantment beyond II, the enchantment has diminishing returns when attacking Minecraft:players but not when attacking Minecraft:mobs. Template:IN, players can hit Minecraft:armor stands back with the Knockback enchantment, but not Template:In. Damage immunity provides immunity to the Knockback enchantment.

Specific cases

If Knockback is applied to a Minecraft:trident by use of Minecraft:commands or an Minecraft:anvil in Creative, the enchantment functions when using the weapon's melee attack but not when using its ranged attack.

Resistant mobs

• Minecraft:Squid and Minecraft:glow squid are resistant to knockback when outside of water.
• Minecraft:Iron golems, Minecraft:wardens and Minecraft:shulkers are completely unaffected by knockback.
• Minecraft:Agents and Minecraft:NPCs are invulnerable and completely unaffected by knockback.
