launcher_settings.json is a Minecraft:JSON file located in Template:File, which stores global configuration parameters of the Minecraft:Minecraft Launcher.
JSON format
launcher_settings.json uses JSON structures to save and retrieve settings across launcher sessions. The keys and their data types are outlined below.
- Template:Nbt The root object
- Template:Nbt: The active schema version of the configuration file. Currently Template:Cd.
- Template:Nbt: Internal schema format version identifier of the settings model. Defaults to Template:Cd.
- Template:Nbt: A unique 64-bit integer identifier randomly generated to uniquely identify the client machine installation.
- Template:Nbt: The interface language tag (such as Template:Cd). Defaults to the operating system's locale.
- Template:Nbt: The release channel used for receiving launcher updates. Can be Template:Cd, Template:Cd or any custom defined channel in Template:Cd. Defaults to Template:Cd.
- Template:Nbt: A list of strings representing custom distribution update channels. Defaults to an empty list Template:Cd.
- Template:Nbt: Custom path for installing and managing game files.
- Template:Nbt: Forces the launcher to use the native 64-bit ARM Java Runtime Environment, on supported ARM64 hardware. Defaults to Template:Cd.
- Template:Nbt: Increases all texts size. Defaults to Template:Cd.
- Template:Nbt: Toggles support for quick play. Defaults to Template:Cd.

- Template:Nbt: Template:More info. Can be Template:Cd, Template:Cd or Template:Cd.
- Template:Nbt: Target API backend environment for Minecraft Services. Can be any string or Template:Cd/Template:Cd.<ref name="staging" group="note">Redirects critical backend services to internal staging servers, causing network and authentication failures without valid developer credentials.</ref><ref name="version-tags" group="note">Configuring this appends identifier tags directly to the launcher's displayed version: Template:Cd (Minecraft Services), Template:Cd (Mojang API), Template:Cd (Franchise Services), Template:Cd (Dynamic Resource Services), and Template:Cd (Template:Cd active).</ref>

- Template:Nbt: The release channel used for receiving updates. Can be an empty string or Template:Cd.<ref group="note">Setting this to Template:Cd allows downloading the official closed beta build of Minecraft Dungeons from April 3, 2020.</ref>
