Minecraft:Migrator Cape

The Migrator Cape is a Minecraft:cape that was given to players who migrated their Mojang accounts (used for Minecraft: Java Edition) to Microsoft accounts.

Distribution

Players who bought Minecraft: Java Edition before December 1, 2020 got this cape when migrating their account.

The cape was first given out around July 9, 2021 and could be obtained until the end of the migration period on September 19, 2023.

Trivia

• In addition to the Migrator Cape, players who migrated were were originally supposed to receive Minecraft:veteran capes; there would have been a different veteran cape "for each year [they] have played Template:JE".<ref>Template:Citation</ref><ref>Template:Citation</ref> At the end of the migration process, veteran capes were jokingly stated to be "a lie" by a Mojang employee.<ref>Template:Tweet</ref> In 2025, Minecraft:Marc Watson explained that veteran capes were scrapped due to technical limitations.<ref>Template:Bluesky</ref>
