Minecraft:Skin pack

Template:ForTemplate:Exclusive
A skin pack is a type of downloadable content that adds additional Minecraft:skins for players to choose from along with the default skins included with the game's purchase. Skin packs are available in Template:El as purchasable content on the Minecraft:Marketplace. They often feature characters from other video games, movies, and television shows, alongside original designs. Skin packs all have skins related to one another, e.g, a movie skin pack includes characters from only the designated movie. Skin packs are a way to quickly obtain several themed skins at once.
In addition to separately available skin packs, some Minecraft:mash-up packs and downloadable worlds come bundled with skin packs as well.
Custom skin packs can be created and imported to the game with a data system similar to Minecraft:resource packs and Minecraft:behavior packs.

Package format
Custom skin packs use a package format which contains multiple Minecraft:skins for the players and loaded by the game under the Template:Cd directory. It is defined in Template:Cd with the Template:Cd module, and contains Template:Cd and Minecraft:localization files for defining skin entries. When a custom skin pack is loaded by the game, it appears as a skin pack below the custom skin on the "Classic Skins" menu of the Minecraft:Dressing Room.
Zipped skin packs can be distributed with the Template:Cd file extension. Opening a skin pack file will automatically import it to Template:Cd and it appears in the Dressing Room. Imported skin packs do not support custom geometry models, only being exclusive to Minecraft:marketplace skin packs made by official collaborations, or published by "Minecraft".Template:Cn
Directory structure
Template:File or Template:File
- Template:File: Specifies the models of each geometry type. Only used in internal skin packs.
- Template:File: Skin packs use the Template:Cd type.
- Template:File: Defines skin entries stored in the pack.
- Template:File. A skin file. Multiple skin files can be stored in a pack.
- Template:File: Defines names for the skins in-game, which can be translated.
- Template:File. Specifies all languages used.
- Template:File. A language file for localization. Multiple language files can be used.
skins.json
The Template:Cd file is used to define skin entries later loaded by the game. The following interface is used for Template:Cd:
- Template:Nbt: The root tag.
- Template:Nbt: The skin pack name used for language localization for the skin's display name.
- Template:Nbt: The name used for serialization and localization keys.
- Template:Nbt: The list of skins which may be loaded by the game.
- Template:Nbt: An object defining a skin.
- Template:Nbt: Specifies whether or not the skin is Template:Cd or Template:Cd. Custom skin pack may only use Template:Cd option.
- Template:Nbt: Specifies the geometry used for the player's model when equipping the skin. For custom skin pack, this is used to specify wide or slim model, which are specified as Template:Cd and Template:Cd respectively. A Minecraft:cape can be specified with Template:Cd, but is not usable in-game.
- Template:Nbt: The skin name used for language localization.
- Template:Nbt: The file name used for the skin. It resolves to the root of the skin pack, and it cannot be nested (i.e. inside another folder under the root skin pack folder).
- Template:Nbt: An object defining a skin.
Localization
The localization files for skin pack may be defined under Template:Cd directory. For example, Template:Cd defines localization for players with American English language set in their Minecraft:settings.
The following key name format applies for skin pack localization:
- Template:Cd for defining a skin's name.
- Template:Cd for defining the skin pack's name.
- Template:Cd for defining the author's name.
Both serialize_name and skin_localization_name are defined in the Template:Cd file as specified above.
Internal skin packs
An internal skin pack is used for the default skins, which uses the same directory structrure as custom skin packs. Internal skin packs can be found at Template:Cd.
| File name | Description |

| custom | Unknown, does not contain any skin files. |
