Minecraft:Sniffer Egg

Template:For Template:Distinguish Template:Infobox block A sniffer egg is a Minecraft:block that can be Minecraft:brushed out of Minecraft:suspicious sand in Minecraft:warm ocean ruins, or obtained by Minecraft:breeding two Minecraft:sniffers. It slowly hatches into a snifflet (baby sniffer) when placed.

Sniffer eggs can be mined with any tool, even with bare hands, and always drop themselves. Unlike turtle eggs, Minecraft:Silk Touch is not needed.<ref>Template:Bug</ref> Template:Breaking row

Mob loot

Sniffer eggs can also be obtained by Minecraft:breeding two Minecraft:sniffers with Minecraft:torchflower seeds. Unlike Minecraft:turtle eggs or Minecraft:frogspawn, which are placed into the world in block form, sniffer eggs are dropped as items, similar to Minecraft:chicken eggs.

Usage

Placing

Sniffer eggs can be placed in block form. Once placed, they slowly mature and hatch into snifflets.

Sniffer eggs do not require a supporting block below.<ref>Template:Bug</ref> Unlike Minecraft:dragon eggs, they are not affected by gravity.

Hatching

Sniffer eggs crack over time and hatch after cracking twice. They hatch in 10 minutes when placed on Minecraft:moss blocks or 20 minutes when placed on any other block (including Minecraft:pale moss blocks).

Sniffer eggs do not need to receive Minecraft:random ticks to hatch Template:In. Therefore, the hatching speed of sniffer eggs is not affected by the Template:Cd Minecraft:game rule.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>
