Minecraft:Suspicious Stew
More actions
Template:For Template:Infobox item Suspicious stew is a Minecraft:food item that can give the Minecraft:player a status effect that depends on the Minecraft:flower used to craft it.
Obtaining

Crafting
Harvesting
Suspicious stew can be obtained by “milking” a brown Minecraft:mooshroom by Template:Control an empty Minecraft:bowl on it after Template:Control a small flower on it. The flower type determines the stew's effect using the same rule as a crafted stew. After being milked once, the brown mooshroom returns to producing Minecraft:mushroom stew until fed another small flower. Red mooshrooms do not produce suspicious stew.
Trading
Template:Trade sources The Minecraft:trading interface does not indicate the type of suspicious stew being sold, but each trade entry consistently yields the same type of stew, so the player can remember or make a note of the types offered by a given villager. Template:IN, due to Template:Bug, all stews sold by farmers grant Minecraft:Night Vision for 5 seconds.
Commands
Suspicious stew can be given with Minecraft:commands like Template:Cmd; Template:In, if the suspicious_stew_effect component is not specified, consuming the stew doesn't inflict any effect. Template:IN, different types of suspicious stews can be given by specifying its metadata value.
Usage
Food
Template:See also To eat suspicious stew, press and hold Template:Control while it is selected in the hotbar. Eating one restores Template:Hunger hunger and 7.2 hunger saturation and gives a few seconds of a status effect that varies depending on which flower was used to craft it. The effect is not displayed in the tooltip, texture, etc., unless the tooltip is viewed from the Creative inventory (including Minecraft:saved hotbars), meaning that the player cannot know in advance what the effect is without knowing which flower was used.
Minecraft:Suspicious Stew/Effects The Minecraft:bowl is emptied and returned to the player after the suspicious stew has been eaten, and can be re-used to craft more stews. Unlike most foods, suspicious stew can be eaten even if the player's hunger bar is full.
The Saturation effect makes the blue orchid and dandelion stews superfoods, especially Template:In, as the Saturation combined with the stew's initial food value results in the restoration of Template:Hunger hunger points and the maximization of saturation Template:In, and the restoration of Template:Hunger hunger points and Template:Hunger<ref>Template:Bug</ref> saturation points Template:In. This is the largest amount of hunger points that can be restored from eating once. Template:IN, that also applies to saturation points, while Template:In it is only the 9th highest item in terms of saturation point restoration. Regeneration can restore up to Template:Health health, while Poison can inflict up to Template:Health damage and Wither up to Template:Health damage.
Consuming suspicious stew is the only way to obtain the Saturation and Blindness effects in vanilla Minecraft without the use of commands.

Trivia
- Suspicious stew was introduced because developers wanted a way of communicating that lilies of the valley are poisonous.<ref>Template:Ytl</ref>
- If one excluded the red mushrooms (which are based on a poisonous mushroom), the only suspicious stews that would realistically be edible are the allium, dandelion, cornflower, oxeye daisy, tulip, and azure bluet suspicious stews, as those are the only flowers that are safe to eat in real life.
- As part of the Minecraft:Spookyfest campaign, a real life recipe for suspicious stew was made, using Minecraft:Pringles as ingredients.<ref>Template:Mcnet</ref>
