Minecraft:Warden (April Fools' joke)
More actions
Template:Redirect Template:Joke feature Template:Infobox entity The warden Minecraft:boss is a neutral mob that appears exclusively in a mine crafted with the Warden Boss Fight mine ingredient, or in a Minecraft:special mine that appears as every fifth mine. This version of the warden was modified for a special event in 25w14craftmine. The boss fight can either be completed without combat or by killing the warden, both of which completes the mine level and gives the Warded advancement.
Spawning
A warden spawns naturally as part of the generation of the warden's mine level. It spawns at the center of a stage and always has the Minecraft:Glowing effect.
They are spawned with the warden arena and thus they do not respawn. Placing the warden arena with /place feature minecraft:warden_arena does not spawn a warden.

Behavior
Warden's mine level
After spawning, the warden remains in a laying position at the center of the stage. It does not react until the player blows a Minecraft:goat horn after a villager finishes their wondering dialogue, after a certain amount of time. If the warden is attacked by a player while it is idling at the center of the stage, it will turn hostile at the attacking player. Blowing the horn too early does not wake the warden.
Once awakened, the warden performs its spawning animation and stays idle until the player starts the music backstage. It then walks to the right side of the stage and remains standing. When the player activates the copper bulb backstage, the warden begins performing a worm dance across the stage. Upon reaching the other side, it becomes idle again.
The warden resumes movement when the player equips a mob head, approaching the player as if to attack but stopping at the center of the stage. It then remains still until the fireworks are triggered. Once the fireworks begin, the warden performs its despawn animation and stays at the final frame until the player either lets it despawn (e.g., by moving far from the arena or reloading the world), though it does not always despawn, or kills it as an alternative way to complete the event. After the event is completed, a Minecraft:mine exit appears at the warden's position if the mine is a Minecraft:special mine. Otherwise, if the mine level was crafted normally, the player must find a mine exit already present.
The required steps can be performed without making the warden wait, allowing its performance to proceed smoothly. However, the steps must be completed in order. Otherwise, the player must repeat the current step. If the player waits too long before performing the required steps, or attacks the warden at any point, the warden becomes hostile and behaves as it does outside the Minecraft:Craftmine Update. At that point, defeating the warden in combat becomes the only way to complete the event.
Any wardens spawned in the same mine behave the same way as the one in the arena. Each warden has its own event, but it will only progress if the warden is spawned in the arena or nearby.
Other mines
Wardens spawned in other mines do not have modified behavior.
Sounds
Wardens use the Hostile Creatures sound category for entity-dependent sound events.
