The 89th Squadron also known as the "Lost Squad" was a military unit of the StarCitizen:UEE Navy.<ref name=":0" /><ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref> The motto of the unit was 'Stand and Deliver.'
History
The Squadron was founded in 2608. It served as a logistics and operations support squadron to various units, bases, and StarCitizen:capital ships until it was finally moved to Caliban in 2792.
The 89th Squadron is commonly known for their role in the StarCitizen:Fall of Caliban in 2884,<ref>According to older lore sources, the Fall of Caliban was dated 2871. It was changed by the writers subsequently.</ref> where the squadron received devastating losses protecting civilians trying to flee the system from the attacking Vanduul fleet. Only one pilot of the unit survived the event. Film adaptation
In 2946 a Lost Squad holovid series based on this event featured the unit's pilots prominently and also caused some controversy over their portrayal.<ref name=":0">Template:Cite RSI</ref><ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>

Lore Change
For years, the "Lost Squadron" was designated Number 88. At some unspecified timein the middle of 2024, CIG decided to change the squadron's StarCitizen:lore, shifting its designation from Number 88 to 89.
