A barrel attachment is a Star Citizen weapon attachment that attaches to the barrel of a weapon to modify its behavior.
Types
| Type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Ballistic compensators | Reduces the recoil generated by ballistic weapons in exchange for an increase of noise. It redirects a portion of propellant gases to counter recoil and unwanted muzzle rise. |
| Energy stabilizers | Reduce the recoil generated by energy weapons in exchange for an increase in heat.<ref name="jp0711">Template:Cite Jump Point</ref> |
| Flash hiders | Reduces the muzzle flash and recoil of a weapon. |
| Suppressors | Reduces the muzzle flash and sound of a weapon in exchange for a decrease in damage. |
