Chemline Solutions (CS) is a StarCitizen:human manufacturer and distributor of industrial chemicals. It was founded in SEY StarCitizen:2889 by Victor Zahid, a businessman, and his twin sister Adorai Zahid, a geological engineer, after Adorai's company Edo Inc. canceled her project to develop a new kind of resource extraction technology. While Adorai worked to complete her research, Chemline Solutions supplied chemicals to various companies to build the company's reputation.<ref name="galactapedia">Template:Cite RSI</ref>

History

Victor and Adorai Zahid were raised by parents employed on the internal inspection teams of Kel-To ConStores, a role that kept the family constantly moving between branches throughout the StarCitizen:United Empire of Earth (UEE). The twins spent their childhood traveling aboard transport ships and through Housing Exchanges, studying a curriculum their parents designed so they could test for Equivalency early. Both achieved Equivalency at sixteen and received partial scholarships to StarCitizen:Terra University. Victor earned a dual degree in economics and business management and took a position at Clifton Brothers in Prime, while Adorai completed a degree in geological engineering and joined the planetary development division of Edo Inc., a mining and exploration exchange based out of StarCitizen:Lo in the StarCitizen:Corel system.<ref name="portfolio">Template:Cite RSI</ref>

In 2889, the twins reunited at their father's birthday party, where Adorai described the experimental extraction technology she had been developing for Edo. Edo's board of directors had moved to cancel the project because the projected implementation cost outweighed the potential profit. Victor saw commercial potential in the research and proposed that the siblings develop the technology themselves. Within the year, Chemline Solutions was founded. Its primary business was the supply of industrial chemicals, which generated the cash flow to fund Adorai's continued work, and Adorai persuaded Edo's board to sell her research to the new company. The business grew quickly, operating from six distribution hubs across the UEE within five years.<ref name="portfolio" />

By the end of the 29th century, Adorai had completed a working prototype of the extraction process, codenamed Resurrection, which used low-frequency seismic vibrations to unlock previously inaccessible gas pockets. Victor selected StarCitizen:Gainey, a moon designated Odin 1a in the StarCitizen:Odin system, as the first dig site. The moon had been mined extensively until it was abandoned in 2865, and its remote location and lack of a local population made it suitable for the new technology. After clearing the abandoned structures and debris left by earlier operations, Chemline Solutions secured extraction rights from the StarCitizen:UEE Planetary Development Bureau and activated its first gas extraction facility on Gainey in 2904.<ref name="portfolio" /><ref name="galactapedia" />

The facility was profitable, but Adorai grew concerned about an increase in seismic events on the moon, including fissures that opened unexpectedly. When Victor entered negotiations to build a second extraction facility on a populated world, Adorai protested, citing the danger her technology might pose to a local population. Victor refused and dismissed her findings, and the dispute escalated until he fired her from the company. Adorai then sued Chemline Solutions and her brother for the rights to her technology, but the founding company doctrine designated the extraction technology a company asset. The lawsuits and countersuits continued for nearly a decade, and the highly publicized battle severely damaged the company's reputation.<ref name="portfolio" /><ref name="galactapedia" />

By 2919, Chemline Solutions could no longer maintain the Gainey facility, in part because the fallout from the legal dispute made the UEE reluctant to grant further licenses for the technology. Unable to find a buyer willing to assume responsibility for the property, Victor removed as much equipment as he could and permanently sealed the facility in 2923.<ref name="portfolio" /><ref name="galactapedia" />

Chemline Solutions has since returned to operating primarily as an industrial chemical distributor. Victor Zahid has continued to seek extraction licenses, though the cost of building the structures needed to use the technology has become a greater obstacle than government reluctance. In 2938, he instituted an open-door policy inviting geological and mining inventors to pitch their ideas. Adorai Zahid withdrew from public life after the trials were settled and became a professor of geological studies at Terra University. In 2940, she released an educational textbook on surveying ethics, but she has not spoken publicly about her time at Chemline Solutions.<ref name="portfolio" />
