Approaching the site in a ship will result in being fired upon by outpost turrets, regardless of the player's StarCitizen:CrimeStat rating unless the player has a mission located at that location.

While this location no longer has the ability to clear a player's crimestat, it is still home to numerous missions and loot boxes.
