Henry Cavill began his career with roles in the film adaptations The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) and I Capture the Castle (2003). He's a massive PC gamer and his folks reached out to Cloud Imperium Games to let them know that he would be really interested to be a part of Squadron 42.
