Oretani I had been listed as a dwarf planet in the initial system assessment.<ref>Starmap: Oretani I</ref> Further studies showed that it was a StarCitizen:mesoplanet. In a close orbit around its star, it has extreme temperature differences between night and day.<ref name="GAORI">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
Before the jump point collapsed, StarCitizen:Turiya Terraforming had started construction on a temporary underground base to keep their surveyors safe from the harsh sun<ref name="GAORI" />.
