StarCitizen:Ships and vehicles in StarCitizen:Star Citizen are available for rent using in-game money at various locations in the 'verse.
All ship rentals include default equipment and full StarCitizen:insurance coverage for the rental period. Pilots may carry cargo and store personal equipment aboard rentals, but may not modify the ship's weapons or components. The StarCitizen:mobiGlas ship customization app is disabled for all rentals.
Rental period
Since the introduction of ship renting in Alpha 3.7.0, ships can be rented for a pre-assigned durations. This length of time is correlated with real-world time; meaning that even after logging out, the timer will not pause and will continue to count down.
A discount is applied when renting ships for multiple days, lowering the cost per day. The current discounts are as follows:
