The screening room at the Cloud Imperium Games Manchester office, also called the viewing room, movie theater or the cinema, allows management, audio, video and production teams to evaluate new elements of StarCitizen:Star Citizen and Squadron 42 in a wide variety of formats, and facilitates presentations and video conference calls.<ref name=":0">Cloud Imperium Games screening room, finitesolutions.co.uk</ref>

Technical details

It features sound proofing, interior acoustic optimization and optimized viewing angles, with a stylized Star Citizen interior.<ref name=":0" />

The room is approximately 11m x 6m x 4m and seats some 20 people with a post production desk for 4 users.<ref name=":0" />

The core of the surround sound system uses a Trinnov Altitude 32 processor, while an M&K speaker system is utilized for to the clean, neutral sound and heritage of robust, reliable performance in studio applications.  A Dolby Atmos 9.4.6 system featuring 300 and 150 series speakers and 4x X15+ THX Dominus certified subwoofers provides the cinematic experience with the clarity necessary for monitoring.<ref name=":0" />

The video system was initially a JVC NZ9 projector however once the room was completed CIG found that they used the room far more than expected and that they needed a more powerful and capable projection system. Following demonstrations CIG went with the Christie M4K25+ projector, and Lumagen video processor, able to deliver over 25,000 lumens of brightness meaning 500 nits on the 5m wide screen and the full REC2020 color space via its triple DLP laser engine.<ref name=":0" />

To ensure the system is easy to use a Crestron control system provides in wall and desk top touch panel control over the rooms lighting and climate controls as well as a simple yet powerful and flexible control of the various ways the rooms audiovisual systems can be used.<ref name=":0" />

The system comes with preset calibration modes saving for a large variety of options which are then recalled through the Crestron control interface. Full ISF video calibration was completed on the Lumagen and Christie combination.<ref name=":0" />
