StarCitizen:Stiletto

Template:InfoboxNeue The Stiletto was a light interceptor sold by the now-defunct company StarCitizen:Elio-Harman Aerospace in the early StarCitizen:26th century. It was one of the last spacecraft designs commissioned by the United Nations of Earth (UNE) and was used specifically to intercept enemy bombers. The Stiletto was withdrawn from service in the 2580s in favor of the StarCitizen:Aegis Dynamics StarCitizen:Gladius following issues with its supply chain and the design's inability to adapt to rapid advances in StarCitizen:shield technology.<ref name="galactapedia">Template:Cite RSI</ref>

The Stiletto was typical of its service period, in which it was referred to as a "parasite craft" and only capable of space-operations - a trait rendered totally obsolete by its aerospace-capable successor. Like other parasite craft of the time, the Stiletto had a hull-form greatly resemblant of the modular rockets that launched humanity out into space and is specifically described as a "sort of fast, weaponed tube with a variety of potential technical mounting points amidship". As a parasite craft, the Stiletto was only based from warships.<ref name="Whitley's Guide - Gladius">Template:Cite RSI</ref>

The Stiletto served during the StarCitizen:First Tevarin War.

Contradictions

The Galactapedia Source refers to the Stiletto as a medium interceptor, and withdraws the Stiletto from service in exchange for the StarCitizen:Gladius in 2580.

The Whitley's Guide Source refers to the Stiletto as an interceptor and as a dedicated light fighter, and indicates that the succeeding StarCitizen:Gladius entered service in 2589, not 2580. This may be a typo for 2579.
