Considered quite a delicacy in many restaurants due to its tender meat, it was also the basis of StarCitizen:Waka Grey, the sidekick from a 27th century children's show. It is a popular choice for aquarium enthusiasts and is commonly found in aquatic enclosures aboard spacecraft, where it serves as an aquarium fish.<ref name="ig481">Template:Cite game</ref>

The Thorshu Grey was sold on StarCitizen:Voyager Direct for use as a hangar item for 1000 StarCitizen:UEC.

The Thorshu features on the insignia of the StarCitizen:78th Squadron, who are nicknamed "Thundering Thorshu".
