Usage

author

The author of the post(s). Include "Mod" prefixes, such as "Mod Mark" instead of simply "Mark". Use their mod name rather than their X handle.

url

The url of the post in question. In case of multiple posts, use the url of the first one in the conversation that is being cited.

quote

The exact transcript of the post(s) in question. In case of multiple posts, cite them as one. Exclude tags (#example) and replies (@example)

date

The date the post was posted in the format dd month yyyy.

archiveurl

URL for an archived snapshot of the web page, e.g. - requires archivedate to be specified.

archivedate

Creation date of the archived snapshot at the URL in archiveurl.

Standard parameters

The following parameters are standard across all citation templates.

notes

Optional. This parameter allows you to add text beginning one space after the end of the citation.

name

Optional. If you want to use this reference more than once, you must name it the first time you use it; then, whenever you want to use it again, add {{NamedRef|Name}} wherever you want it to reappear.

group

Optional. This can be used to place the reference in a specific group, separating it from other types of references.
