Template:Documentation header Template:Lua Template:Shortcut This template sends a notification to user(s) you are replying to in a discussion by linking to their user page, and is syntactic sugar for doing so manually.

Note that it isn't necessary to use this template to ping the user if you are already linking to their username elsewhere in your post, or if you are on their talk page.

Usage

Single recipient

Use the following syntax:

{{reply|Username}} Message text. ~~~~

For example, {{reply|Majr}} will produce:

Multiple recipients

You can reply to multple people at once, using the following syntax:

{{reply|User1|User2|User3|User4|User5}} Message text. ~~~~

For example, {{reply|Example|Jimbo Wales}} will produce:

Limitations

The notification system will only trigger if the edit belongs to a section and has a signature. See Wp:Notifications for details.
