The windswept forest or extreme hills plus trees biome is a more humid variant of the Minecraft:windswept hills filled with Minecraft:spruce and Minecraft:oak trees.
Generation
Windswept forests generate instead of windswept hills in areas with high Minecraft:humidity. They generate at medium to the coldest temperature ranges, bordering all types of Minecraft:forests and Minecraft:taigas. Commonly, they surround Minecraft:swamp biomes, and near higher temperatures they border Minecraft:windswept savannas. Windswept forests can generate close to, but never border Minecraft:windswept gravelly hills.
A lush cave may also generate under windswept forests due to its high humidity, but when the biome generates far inland, Minecraft:dripstone caves may generate beneath it instead.
Description
Windswept forests lack a stony terrain surface, but generate hilly and rugged terrain just like regular windswept hills.
Minecraft:Spruce and Minecraft:oak trees generate quite often, forming a sparse forest, and bushes occasionally spawn in patches around the biome. This is unlike the other windswept hills biomes, where noTemplate:Only almost noTemplate:Only trees generate.
This biome is one of the few to contain Minecraft:emerald ore, and more Minecraft:coal ore along with Minecraft:iron ore generates at higher altitudes. Minecraft:Infested stone with Minecraft:silverfish may also be found here underground.
Minecraft:Llamas inhabit windswept forests, along with the usual farm animals and hostile mobs. Minecraft:Pigs, Minecraft:cows and Minecraft:chickens appear as cold variants here.
With Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals, windswept forests use a coolish humid Minecraft:volumetric fog setting, which slightly fades the distance in an orange tint. Windswept forests have default coolish color grading tints the environment with a colder blue color, and cold sunlight which is slightly brighter at dusk and dawn.
Mobs
The following mobs, excluding silverfish that spawn from infested blocks, naturally spawn here:
