The Dragonwilds:Rune Altar is a crafting table used to craft Dragonwilds:Runes using Dragonwilds:Rune Essence. Its menu displays options to select which Dragonwilds:rune you want to craft, a slider for how many you want to craft (from 1 to 50), and has two different methods to do so—Attune and Auto Craft:
* Attuning is a two-step process involving Attunement and Infusion and can award the maximum available XP and Dragonwilds:Rune Essence to Dragonwilds:Runes ratio of 1:10.
* Auto Crafting instantly crafts Dragonwilds:runes but only awards 25% of the XP and requires Efficiency upgrades to get the 1:10 ratio.
===Attunement=== | |||
| |||
| |||
| |||
Find an attunement frequency to infuse the runes with magical energy. Higher attunement levels grant additional bonus runes.
The Attunement Phase brings up the player's chosen rune with frequencies surrounding it with a pointer facing outwards. By moving the pointer around the Dragonwilds:rune, it will resonate with low, medium, and high frequencies. By locking in the resonance (default LMB on MnK), It will display the attunement strength (weak, moderate, or strong), the number of bonus runes to expect (33%, 66%, or 100% more), and the difficulty (easy, normal, or hard).
At lower Dragonwilds:Runecrafting levels, this phase lasts a short time, and the frequencies may shift before the player can find and lock in the one they want. However, there's nothing lost by failing to lock in a resonance—In fact, hitting the escape key will back out of the Attunement Phase with nothing lost except time. With experience (both numerical and literal), finding the desired frequency can be achieved quickly. Every level will increase the phase by 0.6% up to a maximum of 58.8%.
===Infusion=== | |||
| |||
| |||
As the attuned rune fills with power, mend its cracks to contain the magic within and safeguard you bonus runes.
The Infusion Phase then rotates the pointer inwards. Cracks will begin to appear on the rune which the player will need to seal. Attempting to seal a crack will halt the pointer, so the player will need to be sure to only click on cracks. The pointer moves slower with short mouse movements but will move faster to keep up with larger movements, and will even flip across the Dragonwilds:Rune if needed. It is good practice to overshoot a crack with the mouse but then seal the crack as soon as the pointer reaches it.
At lower Dragonwilds:Runecrafting levels, this phase can last a long time, and it can become difficult to keep up with how many cracks appear. There will be a maximum of five cracks at once, and a few seconds of that will drain the bonus runes you would have received to slightly less than what you would have gotten by auto crafting. However, even a failed infusion will award more XP than auto crafting. Levels 17, 48, and 78 unlock Infusion Duration reductions, such that there's only enough time for 5 cracks to even appear starting at level 78.
There is a delay between when a crack first appears and when it begins draining bonus runes, and by sealing all of the cracks before they begin draining, it is possible to achieve a Perfect Infusion. Again, with practice and experience, this becomes easier and more reliable to perform. Due to this, although Low and Medium Attunement is a good introduction to Attuning, the player should prioritize High Attunements and Perfect Infusions in order to maximize their Runes and Experience received.
===Auto Craft=== | |||
As stated before, Auto Crafting instantly crafts Dragonwilds:Runes but only awards 25% of the XP and requires Efficiency upgrades to get the 1:10 ratio—it otherwise only provides a ratio of 1:5.
Although it is an option to quickly create Dragonwilds:Runes without performing the minigame, the high level requirements for some of the Dragonwilds:Runes Efficiency Upgrades, and the significantly hampered experience, it is not recommended to auto craft, at the very least not until level 99.

Anima Vent (concept art).webp
</gallery> | |||
Anima Vents can be found throughout Dragonwilds:Ashenfall, and produce sounds and runes specific to their type. The player can siphon Dragonwilds:Runes from them using Dragonwilds:Rune Essence at any level, making them a source of runes that the player may not yet be able to craft. Like other resource nodes, they respawn after 3 in-game days.
Each normal node will turn 10 Dragonwilds:Rune Essence into 100 Dragonwilds:Runes and 40 XP, or 70 XP with 45% XP Boosts. With Dragonwilds:Lesser Anima Siphoning at level 46, the runes will increase to 120, a ratio of 1:12, and with Dragonwilds:Greater Anima Siphoning it will further increase to 150 per 10 Dragonwilds:Rune Essence, or a ratio of 1:15.
Anima Vents have a chance to be Concentrated, which means they will have triple the available runes as long as they player has triple the available essence. With the previous two abilities, that means that the player can get up to 450 Runes and 120/210 XP for only 30 Rune Essence from a Concentrated Vent with Dragonwilds:Greater Anima Siphoning. Also with Dragonwilds:Greater Elemental Spirits at level 64, the Dragonwilds:Summon Elemental Spirits spell from level 19 will indicate any Concentrated Vents.
In addition, starting at level 34, there is a 1/5 chance while siphoning for a Dragonwilds:Pure Essence rock to appear, which will float in the air and move quickly. It disappears after a short time, but by hitting it with a combat spell, arrow, or bolt, it will provide 700 XP and 20-30 additional Runes that match the vent as well as 20-30 additional Nature and Law Runes.
And finally, with Dragonwilds:Runes to Rune Essence at level 27 and especially with Runes to Rune Essence Upgrade at level 81 giving back 40% and 60% of the Dragonwilds:Rune Essence, the player can interact with every Dragonwilds:Anima Vent they come across and almost entirely refund the Dragonwilds:Rune Essence consumed, gaining free siphon XP as well as a chance for a Dragonwilds:Pure Essence rock. Even if they don't have any Dragonwilds:Rune Essence on hand, they can generate some with the spell using Dragonwilds:Runes that don't weigh anything and from the Rune Pouch which is separate from the inventory.

Runecrafting is one of the eleven Skills in Runescape: Dragonwilds and allows players to create Dragonwilds:Runes for use in casting combat Dragonwilds:Magic and utility Dragonwilds:Spells.
Players earn Runecrafting experience by imbuing Dragonwilds:Rune Essence into Dragonwilds:Runes at a Dragonwilds:Rune Altar and at Dragonwilds:Anima Vents. Dragonwilds:Rune Essence can be mined from Rune Essence Rocks found near Rune Essence Geysers, by collecting them from Packs, or by recycling them with the Dragonwilds:Runes to Rune Essence Dragonwilds:Spell.

Rune Altar
The Dragonwilds:Rune Altar is a crafting table used to craft Dragonwilds:Runes using Dragonwilds:Rune Essence. Its menu displays options to select which Dragonwilds:rune you want to craft, a slider for how many you want to craft (from 1 to 50), and has two different methods to do so—Attune and Auto Craft:
- Attuning is a two-step process involving Attunement and Infusion and can award the maximum available XP and Dragonwilds:Rune Essence to Dragonwilds:Runes ratio of 1:10.
- Auto Crafting instantly crafts Dragonwilds:runes but only awards 25% of the XP and requires Efficiency upgrades to get the 1:10 ratio.
Attunement
Infusion
Auto Craft
As stated before, Auto Crafting instantly crafts Dragonwilds:Runes but only awards 25% of the XP and requires Efficiency upgrades to get the 1:10 ratio—it otherwise only provides a ratio of 1:5.
Although it is an option to quickly create Dragonwilds:Runes without performing the minigame, the high level requirements for some of the Dragonwilds:Runes Efficiency Upgrades, and the significantly hampered experience, it is not recommended to auto craft, at the very least not until level 99.
Anima Vents

Trivia
- In Template:OSL, the skill is named "Runecraft", without the "-ing", although in Template:RSL it is also named "Runecrafting".
- Unlike the counterparts in Template:OSL and Template:RSL, the Dragonwilds:Runecrafting Guild in Runescape: Dragonwilds lays in ruins and serves no purpose related to the Runecrafting skill.
