1. Are similar to real-world rocks;
2. Share a name with real-world rocks;
3. Are fictitious but fulfill a similar role to rocks.

A few fictitious blocks are included in this list; namely, Minecraft:blackstone, Minecraft:deepslate, Minecraft:End stone, Minecraft:glowstone, Minecraft:netherrack, and Minecraft:redstone. Their actual nature is up to the player's imagination.

Regional rocks

These make up the majority of the ground where they're found.

• Template:BlockLink – columnar basalt found making up the Minecraft:basalt delta biomes of Minecraft:the Nether
• Template:BlockLink – the unbreakable layer of rock that limits mining below the deepslate layer; also sandwiches Minecraft:the Nether; unobtainable in Survival
• Template:BlockLink – the dark gray rock that makes up the deepest mineable layer of the Minecraft:Overworld below Y=0; useful for Minecraft:crafting
• Template:BlockLink – a hard, pale yellow material that makes up all the islands of Minecraft:the End
• Template:BlockLink – a soft, red material that makes up most of Minecraft:the Nether
• Template:BlockLink – a light-colored rock found below almost any Minecraft:sand deposit
• Template:BlockLink – the gray rock that makes up the bulk of the Minecraft:Overworld above Y=0

Decorator rocks

These generate as part of world decorators. Decorators are a kind of Minecraft:terrain feature. Minecraft:Ores and other ore blobs are decorators.

• Template:BlockLink – generates in a variety of structures, including Minecraft:villages and Minecraft:jungle temples
• Template:BlockLink – generates in Minecraft:ruined portals and Minecraft:bastion remnants
• Template:BlockLink – a hard rock that can be found in ruined portals
• Template:BlockLink – generates in Minecraft:desert pyramids and in desert villages
• Template:BlockLink - a white rock found around amethyst geodes

Other rocks
