Minecraft:Dappled Forest

Template:In development Template:Infobox biome The dappled forest is a woodland Minecraft:biome consisting of Minecraft:spruce and Minecraft:poplar trees with red, orange, and yellow leaves, on an orange-brown grass and Minecraft:coarse dirt soil covered by Minecraft:leaf litter, Minecraft:red shrubs, and Minecraft:brown mushrooms.

Generation

Dappled forests generate in cold regions of very little humidity and high Minecraft:weirdness values. This makes them border Minecraft:plains, sunflower plains, and cherry grove biomes, but never any other woodland biomes. They can generate in any type of terrain, on flatland near windswept gravelly hills, near cold oceans, or in mountains near frozen peaks. Their size can range from a microbiome with only a few trees, to a large forest stretching over hundreds of blocks.

Dappled forests are often separated from plains by Minecraft:rivers or mountain valleys.

Description

The dappled forest is a cold biome that consists of Minecraft:poplar trees and Minecraft:red shrubs, of which the former is prevalent enough to cover the majority of the terrain from the sky. The biome's grass color is a saturated orange, which also affects short plants and Minecraft:sugar cane. Biome-tinted Minecraft:leaves like oak and acacia are bright orange. Fallen poplar trees generate commonly, and Minecraft:shelf mushrooms are on all poplar trees.

Other terrain blocks like Minecraft:coarse dirt, Minecraft:brown mushrooms, and Minecraft:leaf litter generate as part of the surface of dappled forests. Minecraft:Spruce trees generate very sparsely throughout.

The biome has unique volumetric fog for Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals, giving it a more dull and foggy appearance, subject to change.<ref>Template:Cite</ref> The water color is a very dark blue, almost black, and more opaque than in any other biome. Underwater fog, however, is white and twice as dense.

Minecraft:Abandoned camps generate here, usually with a poplar. Cold animal variants spawn as well as Minecraft:foxes and Minecraft:rabbits.
