Template:For Template:Infobox item
A beetrootTemplate:Fn is a Minecraft:food and Minecraft:dye ingredient.
Obtaining
Farming
Beetroots are obtained from harvesting a fully-grown beetroot crop, which drops 1 beetroot Template:In or 1 to 2 beetroots Template:In and 1 to 4 beetroot seeds (Template:Frac per crop harvested on average). If a crop is harvested before it is fully grown, it just drops one seed. Harvesting with a Minecraft:Fortune-enchanted tool increases the number of seeds dropped but does not increase the yield of beetroots.

Trivia
- Minecraft:Jeb has stated that beetroots were originally added to Minecraft:Pocket Edition as a developer on the team "thought it would be a nice thing to have."<ref>Template:Bluesky</ref> When they were added, though, they served as a more reliable source of Minecraft:rose red dye. Rose red's only other source, Minecraft:red mushrooms, generated uncommonly in the Minecraft:Old worlds of the time or could be spawned, with tedium, using a Minecraft:Nether reactor.
