The October 2016 Update is an update to all Minecraft:Legacy Console Editions except Minecraft:Nintendo Switch Edition. It is based on Minecraft:Java Edition 1.10.

- Added Minecraft:Frost Walker and Minecraft:Mending enchantments

- Added sounds for Minecraft:witches, Minecraft:squid, Minecraft:snow golems, Minecraft:armor stands, Minecraft:cows, Minecraft:horses, Minecraft:item frames, Minecraft:leash knots, and Minecraft:paintings
- Added a sound for milking cows.

- Added the Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack
Mini games
- Added Minecraft:bone blocks, Minecraft:nether wart blocks, Minecraft:red nether bricks, Minecraft:magma blocks, and Minecraft:end stone bricks to the Minecraft:Tumble mini game
Changes
Blocks
- Added a particle effect when placing an eye of ender inside.
- Now have a chance of growing twice as tall as normal.
- Are now named "Hardened Clay" (e.g., "White Hardened Clay").
- Now generates in mesa biomes between Y=32 and Y=79.
Items
- Are no longer able to be enchanted with Minecraft:Silk Touch.
World generation
- Now spawn with grass paths.
- Are no longer restricted by biome boundaries.
- Now have bridges when generated over water.
- There's now a small chance for villages to spawn as zombie villages
- Farms now include Minecraft:beetroots.
- Now generate in Minecraft:mesa biomes - previously they did not spawn at all, even underground.Template:Verify
Loot Minecraft:chests
- Updated loot for loot Minecraft:chests in dungeons, temples, mineshafts etc.
Minecraft:Plains and Minecraft:sunflower plains
- Now have a chance to generate Minecraft:trees.
Mobs
- Now spawn in Minecraft:the Nether.
- Now drop dry Minecraft:sponges instead of wet sponges.
- Can be led and bred with Minecraft:potatoes and Minecraft:beetroots, in addition to Minecraft:carrots.
Gameplay
- Health regenerates faster when Minecraft:saturation is not empty and the player is not hungry: Template:Hp per half-second versus Template:Hp per 4 seconds.
- Health regeneration increases exhaustion faster: now 4 exhaustion points (1 food point) per Template:Hp instead of 3 (Template:Frac food points).
- Nerfed the Sharpness Minecraft:enchantment.
- Changed the sleeping animation.
General
- Updated all Texture and Mash-up Packs with new items & blocks.
- Minecraft:Explosions no longer deal knockback to Minecraft:players, which are flying in Minecraft:Creative mode.
- Replaced the "Show Description", "Show Ingredients" and "Show Inventory" tooltips in the crafting menu with "Info".
