Template:Infobox biome A savanna plateauTemplate:Fn is a variant of the Minecraft:savanna biome that replaces it at higher elevations and near Minecraft:mountains. Unlike regular savannas, the biome features Minecraft:spotted wolves while lacking villages and pillager outposts.
Generation
Savanna plateaus most often form when a savanna generates on top of a plateau or beneath Minecraft:stony peaks. Like regular savannas, they generate where temperature is moderately high and humidity is low, but they are almost always elevated relative to any surrounding regular savanna terrain.
Besides savannas and stony peaks, Minecraft:forests are common borders, while Minecraft:cherry groves, Minecraft:meadows, Minecraft:snowy slopes, and Minecraft:badlands are less common.
Savanna plateaus will never generate near Minecraft:windswept savannas or Minecraft:mangrove swamps.
Because of the biome's low to moderate erosion values, the Minecraft:deep dark is common deep beneath savanna plateaus, while Minecraft:dripstone caves are common higher up.
Description
Terrain in the savanna plateau appears identical to the regular savanna, sharing its grassy landscape covered with Minecraft:acacia trees, small Minecraft:oak trees, and more Minecraft:tall grass, as well as its arid climate, which prevents proper Minecraft:rainfall from happening within the biome, and tints grass and leaves brown. A distinguishing feature of this biome compared to regular savannas is the absence of Minecraft:villages, Minecraft:pillager outposts and abandoned camps.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>
The same warm mobs spawn in savanna plateaus, plus the unique Minecraft:spotted wolves. Minecraft:Llamas also spawn here, where they do not spawn in regular savannas Template:In.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>
With Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals, savanna plateaus use warmish color grading that tints the environment more orange/yellow. The night sky is slightly brighter and moonlight appears more vibrant blue.
