In 2016, Minecraft:Jens Bergensten ran a poll on Twitter asking players to decide whether to name their new mob a Minecraft:llama or Template:W.<ref>Template:Tweet</ref> Ultimately, the llama won out.
Beginning in 2017, Minecraft:Community Votes would be held to determine upcoming features, such as new Minecraft:mobs or Minecraft:biomes. These would be hosted through Twitter polls up until 2022, when they were replaced by the Minecraft:event servers Minecraft:2022 Mob Vote Event and Minecraft:2023 Mob Vote Event.
Marketplace
Several releases on the Minecraft:Marketplace mention the Twitter platform, often promoting the accounts of the developers. These include Minecraft:Catastrophic Pandamonium, Minecraft: The Mountain, Minecraft:Grid Runners, and Minecraft:Minecon Live: Rush Race!
Promotions
Historically, Twitter has been one of the main places where Mojang developers and workers would share updates, teasers, and behind the scenes on game updates and drops and were in touch with the community, as people could share feedback directly to the developers or suggest new ideas for the game. Other developers such as Minecraft:Gamemode One have also used the platform for teasers of content, such as the Minecraft:Super Update and Minecraft:McDonald's Add-On.<ref>Template:Tweet</ref><ref>Template:Tweet</ref>
In 2026, Twitter was a part of the Minecraft Dungeons II ARG, with the @DungeonsGame account publishing several tweets containing images or videos used as clues for solving puzzles from the Minecraft Discord server.
