Hardened leather offers a sturdier defence that is able to turn away more powerful attacks. Favoured by hunters and rangers, who like the defence it offers without the reduction in mobility that comes with sturdier armour.

During the schism and the inner conflicts between 'pure' humans and the Dragonwilds:Amalgamated, Dragonwilds:Wild Knights would sneak into the village and rescue persecuted Amalgamated in the dead of night. Their armour was silent enough to allow them to move through the village quietly, and they had enough mobility to make a quick escape if caught.

Those who captured Amalgamated were rarely well-equipped soldiers, and their knives were often turned away by the hardness of the leather. During those dark times, this simple armour saved many lives.
