Minecraft:Java Edition 1.4.6

Template:Dangerous version Template:Infobox version 1.4.6<ref>Template:Cite</ref> is a minor update to Template:JE. It is the final update of 2012, released on December 20.<ref>Template:Cite</ref> It introduced Minecraft:fireworks, Minecraft:enchanted books, and the Minecraft:Thorns enchantment. It also added a warning for users playing on soon-to-be unsupported systems (PowerPC and Java 5). While it was not the last update to 1.4, it was the last one before the snapshots of 1.5 started. This is the final version released in 2012.

A pre-release version of 1.4.6 was released on December 17, 2012.<ref>Template:Cite</ref> The release version of 1.4.6 differs from the reupload of the pre-release by fixing a crash issue.<ref name="finalver">Template:Tweet</ref>

• Minecraft:Unbreaking can be applied to anything with durability.
• Minecraft:Efficiency and Minecraft:Silk Touch can be applied to shears, allowing the harvesting of cobwebs.
• Minecraft:Sharpness, Minecraft:Smite, and Minecraft:Bane of Arthropods can be applied to axes.

  • Long pressing halves the stack before dragging.

Minecraft:Hotbar

• Items now show their name when switching in the hotbar.
  • Can be disabled by changing heldItemTooltips to false in Minecraft:options.txt.
• Dropping items while holding Template:Key now drops the whole stack.

• Minecraft:Efficiency now has no effect when using tools on the wrong block types.
• Minecraft:Fire Protection now extinguishes Minecraft:fire more quickly.
• Minecraft:Blast Protection now reduces Minecraft:explosion recoil.
• Minecraft:Protection is not as protective as it used to be in order to make specific enchantments more worthwhile.

Template:Animate Sneaking

• Pressing Template:Ctrl while sneaking now uses the held item instead of the currently selected block.

Minecraft:Death messages

• Now appear in server log files.
