Sharpness is an Minecraft:enchantment applied to Minecraft:swords, Minecraft:axes, and Minecraft:spears that increases melee damage.
Obtaining

Enchanting table maximum
Certain levels of Sharpness cannot be received directly through the enchanting table on certain equipment tiers, because their Minecraft:enchantability does not meet the required threshold.
- The wooden, stone, copper, iron, diamond, and netherite tiers cannot receive Sharpness V through an enchanting table.
- The golden tier is the only tier that is able to receive Sharpness V directly through an enchanting table.
Tiers that cannot receive Sharpness V can have it applied to them by use of an Minecraft:anvil, or can be found naturally enchanted with it through certain Minecraft:structure loot.
Usage
Template:IN, Sharpness adds Template:Hp extra damage for the first level and Template:Hp for all subsequent levels, using the formula 0.5 * level + 0.5.

Specific cases
If Sharpness is applied to a Minecraft:trident by use of Minecraft:commands or an Minecraft:anvil in Creative, the enchantment boosts the weapon's projectile damage, rather than Minecraft:Power having this effect. If Sharpness is applied to a Minecraft:bow by use of commands or an anvil in Creative, the enchantment boosts the damage of the weapon's Minecraft:arrows. If Sharpness is applied to a Minecraft:crossbow by use of commands or an anvil in Creative, the enchantment boosts the damage of the weapon's arrows but not its Minecraft:firework rockets.
Incompatibilities
Sharpness is incompatible with Minecraft:Smite, Minecraft:Bane of Arthropods, and Minecraft:Cleaving.Template:Upcoming It is also incompatible with Minecraft:Impaling, Minecraft:Density, and Minecraft:Breach, however in Survival these incompatibilities cannot be encountered, as no weapon types have access to both Sharpness and Impaling/Density/Breach. If Minecraft:commands are used to have two or more of these enchantments on the same item, their effects stack.Template:Only
