Minecraft:Java Edition 20w07a

20w07a is the second Minecraft:snapshot for Minecraft:Java Edition 1.16, released on February 14, 2020,<ref name="20w07a">Template:Snap</ref> which adds Minecraft:piglins, baby Minecraft:hoglins and some changes to Minecraft:endermen and Minecraft:beacons.

This snapshot contains a bug which causes all villagers with saved memory disappear when upgrading to it, which was fixed in the following snapshot.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>

Minecraft:Spawn eggs

• Spawn in Minecraft:crimson forests and Minecraft:nether wastes biomes.
• Randomly spawns with golden sword or crossbow.
• Adults are hostile; babies are passive.
  • Don't attack Minecraft:players wearing golden armor.
  • Adult piglins turn aggressive when a player is mining Minecraft:blocks of gold or opening Minecraft:chests, even if they are wearing gold armor.
• The player can Minecraft:barter with them by right-clicking with gold ingots or drop them on the ground, which makes them drop at least one item or block.
  • Common barters (Template:Frac or about 9.17%) are 1–4 Minecraft:soul sand, 1–4 brown Minecraft:mushrooms, 1–4 red mushrooms, 1–4 Minecraft:crimson fungi, 1–4 Minecraft:nether bricks, 3–8 Minecraft:flint, or 4–12 Minecraft:rotten flesh.
  • Uncommon barters (Template:Frac or about 4.59%) are 1 Minecraft:shroomlight, 1 Minecraft:fire charge, 4–12 Minecraft:gravel, 2–5 Minecraft:raw porkchops, 2–7 Minecraft:leather, or 1–2 Minecraft:warped fungi.
  • Rare barters (Template:Frac or about 1.83%) are 2–4 Minecraft:glowstone dust, 1–3 Minecraft:magma cream, or 2–4 Minecraft:ender pearls.
  • Very rare barters (Template:Frac or about 0.92%) are 1 Minecraft:warped nylium, 1–4 Minecraft:nether quartz, or 1 Minecraft:obsidian.
• Attack adult Minecraft:hoglins sometimes.
  • Baby piglins do not attack and adult piglins do not attack baby hoglins.
• Attack Minecraft:wither skeletons.
• Avoid soul fire, soul fire torches, soul fire lanterns, and Minecraft:zombie pigmen.
• Prefer to hunt and fight in groups.
• Convert to a zombie pigman when in the Minecraft:Overworld.

• Added block tag beacon_base_blocks.
  • Contains Minecraft:block of iron, Minecraft:block of gold, Minecraft:block of diamond, Minecraft:block of emerald, and Minecraft:block of netherite.
  • Controls what blocks can be used to build a Minecraft:beacon base.
• Added block tag wall_post_override.
  • Contains Minecraft:lantern, Minecraft:soul fire lantern, Minecraft:torch, Minecraft:soul fire torch, Minecraft:redstone torch, and Minecraft:tripwire.
  • Controls what non-solid blocks can transform Minecraft:walls into their pillared block state.
• Added block tag wither_summon_base_blocks.
  • Contains Minecraft:soul sand and Minecraft:soul soil.
  • Controls what blocks can be used to build a Minecraft:wither.
• Added item tag beacon_payment_items.
  • Contains Minecraft:iron ingot, Minecraft:gold ingot, Minecraft:diamond, Minecraft:emerald and Minecraft:netherite ingot.
  • Controls what items can be used as payment in a beacon's GUI. This does not affect the items displayed by the beacon's GUI.

Text

• Added text for translation string death.attack.magic.player<ref>Template:Bug</ref> which appears when a player dies to a Minecraft:potion of Harming after being attacked by a player. It now says "Player was killed by magic whilst trying to escape attacker".

Textures

• Added the zombified piglin entity texture.
• Added the leather, chainmail, iron, golden, diamond and netherite helmet textures used for piglins.

Blocks

Minecraft:Beacons

• Netherite blocks can be used as the base of a beacon and netherite ingots can be used as the fuel for a beacon.

Minecraft:Soul fire lanterns

• Now have an animated texture.
• Removed the wood colors from the texture.

Items

Minecraft:Spawn eggs

• Changed the texture of the hoglin spawn egg.
• Using a spawn egg on a mob that doesn't have a baby variant now spawns an adult of that mob type.

Mobs

Minecraft:Endermen

• Can now pick up Minecraft:nylium, Minecraft:crimson roots, Minecraft:warped roots, and Minecraft:Nether fungi variants.
• No longer pick up Minecraft:netherrack.

Minecraft:Hoglins

• Attack players on sight.
• Drop pork and sometimes leather.
• Breed when fed Minecraft:crimson fungi.
• Are hunted by adult piglins sometimes.
  • Are not hunted by baby piglins and baby hoglins are not hunted at all.
• Move away from placed warped fungi.
• Have new sounds.

Minecraft:Withers

• Can now be summoned using Minecraft:soul soil in the base.

Non-mob entities

Minecraft:Armor stands

• No longer delete replaceable blocks such as snow, grass, fire etc. when placed inside them.

Gameplay

Minecraft:Advancements

• Piglins and hoglins now count towards the Monster Hunter and Monsters Hunted advancements.

Commands

• Now clears item in the inventory crafting grid.

General

Minecraft:Tags

• Removed Minecraft:netherrack and added Minecraft:Nether fungi, Minecraft:crimson roots, Minecraft:warped roots, and Minecraft:nylium variants to the enderman_holdable block tag.

Trivia

• Unlike most of the first-of-the-week snapshots, this was released on a Friday instead of a Wednesday.
