Minecraft:Snowy Beach

Template:Infobox biome A snowy beach or cold beach is a snowy variant of the Minecraft:beach biome that replaces it in frozen regions.

Generation

Snowy beaches replace beaches in the coldest temperature zones, where they frequently border Minecraft:snowy plains, Minecraft:snowy taigas, Minecraft:ice spikes, and regular Minecraft:taigas. Snowy beaches usually separate land from the Minecraft:frozen ocean biome, though they can occasionally generate completely landlocked. Terrain is generally flat and smooth, but can generate as wide, rugged, or even mountainous depending on the surrounding terrain.

In areas of low erosion, snowy beaches are replaced by Minecraft:stony shores. Warmer regions generate as regular beaches instead. Sometimes, land biomes can directly border frozen oceans without any snowy beach, occasionally featuring tall cliffs.

Minecraft:Ice caves Template:Upcoming are common below snowy beaches.

Description

Snowy beaches are the same as regular beaches terrain-wise, being made mostly of sand with sandstone underneath. The temperature in snowy beaches is low enough to allow Minecraft:snowfall, covering the sand in Minecraft:snow and freezing the water around.

Turtles cannot spawn here, but Minecraft:rabbits can Template:In. Shipwrecks and buried treasure may still generate in this beach variant.

With Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals, snowy beaches use default atmospherics with a strong cold color grading, making the biome appear icy blue. They use cold sunlight, which is slightly brighter at dusk and dawn.
