A block of netherite, internally known as a netherite block, is a precious Minecraft:metal block made from nine Minecraft:netherite ingots. In item form, it is resistant to Minecraft:fire and Minecraft:lava, but can still be destroyed by Minecraft:cacti.

Usage

Blocks of netherite can be used to store Minecraft:netherite ingots in a compact fashion.

A single block of netherite contains enough netherite ingots to upgrade a full set of diamond armor and five diamond weapons or tools.

Blocks of netherite have a Minecraft:blast resistance of 1,200, the same as Minecraft:obsidian, Minecraft:crying obsidian, Minecraft:ancient debris, Minecraft:respawn anchor, Minecraft:anvils, and Minecraft:enchanting tables. Unlike obsidian, blocks of netherite (and ancient debris) can be moved with Minecraft:pistons, which makes it useful in redstone builds. Furthermore, blocks of netherite have a hardness of 50, the same hardness as Minecraft:obsidian, Minecraft:crying obsidian, and Minecraft:respawn anchors. This makes it the hardest block that can be pushed by a piston. However, these blocks can be destroyed by Minecraft:explosions while being pushed or pulled by pistons.<ref>Template:Bug</ref> They can also be destroyed by explosions when in item form.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>

It can be destroyed by a Minecraft:wither's blue skulls and on contact with a wither.

Beacons

Blocks of netherite can be used to power a Minecraft:beacon. The beacon can be powered by a 3×3 square of netherite blocks underneath it, and can also optionally include a 5×5, 7×7 and 9×9 layer in the shape of a pyramid under the original layer to increase the effects from the beacon. The layers do not have to be entirely netherite blocks, as any combination of Minecraft:blocks of iron, Minecraft:blocks of gold, Minecraft:blocks of diamond, Minecraft:blocks of emerald, or netherite blocks can power a beacon.

Sulfur cube

Template:In development Minecraft:Sulfur cubes have the ability to absorb blocks of netherite, either through picking them up or being interacted with them. This provides the medicine ball/slow flat effect to the mob when hitting it.
