Trivia

• This was the last Minecraft version before the Minecraft:Texture Update, when most of the blocks, items and mobs were implemented brand new Minecraft:textures created by the artist Minecraft:Jasper Boerstra.
  • After the Texture Update, the original textures are still available as an in-game Minecraft:resource pack named "Programmer Art".
  • This was also the last version where the Minecraft:pack.png image was used as the default resource pack icon.
  • This was also the last version to use the "-pren" notation for pre-releases.
• This is the last version that is able to run on graphics cards without OpenGL 1.5 support, as vertex buffer objects (VBOs) are always used in 1.14 (whereas they are optional in 1.13.2).
• This version came out exactly two months after the previous minor update.
