Worlds are separate versions of Dragonwilds:Ashenfall created by Dragonwilds:players. Each world can have up to four players, and can have Dragonwilds:player-versus-player combat enabled/disabled. They can be played solo, opened to friends, or advertised on a public world list.

Creating a world

Players can create a world by clicking on "Create World", taking them to the Dragonwilds:Wise Old Man's temple.

Selecting a world type

Players can choose from the following types of worlds:

  • Play solo - Players can choose this type to open a private world. Players can open this world type to friends whilst playing solo.
  • Play with friends - Players can play with friends from their Steam friends list.
  • Play with community - Players can advertise their world to the public worlds list.
  • Dragonwilds:Dedicated servers

Worlds

Regardless of the type of world players choose, they can still choose whether the world is available only to the player, to the player's friends, or to the public. In addition, players can enable Friendly Fire, allowing players to have player-versus-player combat.

Modes

Standard Mode

Standard mode is the default option when starting a world. This will include only basic settings and difficulties, both of which cannot be adjusted after creating a world.

Creative Mode

Template:Main Creative mode is a game mode that allows players to play without any restrictions. It allows the player to be invincible, have unlimited resources, and roam the map to build and explore.

Custom worlds

Template:Main Custom mode allows the player to set the difficulty and settings whilst playing the game.

Settings

World name

Players can choose a world name, limited to 16 characters. Spaces and special characters will still count in the 16-character limit and will be stripped out (e.g., -, ~, !, @, _, etc.)

Difficulty

Players can choose the difficulty of the world. The main differences between Normal and Hard are listed below:

Normal Hard

Skill XP Retained on Dragonwilds:death Skill XP beyond the player's current level is lost on death

Death Mechanics Multiple gravestones Only one Dragonwilds:gravestone can be active; dying again will make the oldest

Weaknesses & Resistances Standard weaknesses and resistances Weaknesses and resistances both increased by 10%

Friends worlds

Friends in the player's Steam friend list who are also playing RuneScape: Dragonwilds will display the world name, friend name, players, type, PVP enabled/disabled, and last played, similar to the public worlds list. Ensure the world is not full when entering; otherwise, players will receive an error that the world is full. Note that setting a world to friends only will not be shown on the public worlds list.

Public worlds

The public worlds list includes the world name, the player who created the world, players online (of up to four players), the type of world (public or offline), PVP enabled/disabled, and last played. These can also include Dragonwilds:Dedicated Servers.
