20w27a is the first Minecraft:snapshot for Minecraft:Java Edition 1.16.2, released on July 1, 2020,<ref name="20w27a">Template:Snap</ref> which adds Minecraft:piglin brutes, makes Minecraft:zoglins leashable and fixes bugs.

• Stronger variants of Minecraft:piglins that wield Minecraft:golden axes.
• Are always hostile towards Minecraft:players, unlike piglins.
• Have Template:Hp health.
• Only spawn during world generation in Minecraft:bastion remnants.

General

Minecraft:Tags

• Added mushroom_grow_block block tag.
  • Contains mycelium, podzol, and crimson and warped nylium.
  • Used to determine which blocks mushrooms can be placed on and which blocks huge mushrooms can grow on, even if the light level is high.

Brown and red Minecraft:mushrooms

• Can now be placed and grown on both types of Minecraft:nylium.

Crimson and warped fungi

• Can now be placed on Minecraft:mycelium.
  • Still only grow into a Minecraft:huge fungus on the respective nylium.

Minecraft:Zoglins

• Can now be Minecraft:leashed.

World generation

Minecraft:Bastion remnants

• Now spawn piglin brutes on world generation.
  • Normal piglins still spawn.

Gameplay

Minecraft:Advancements

• Piglin brutes are now used for the "Monster Hunted" advancement and count toward the "Monsters Hunter" advancement.

Menu

• Dropping Minecraft:resource packs into the menu now updates the list of resource packs without needing a reload.
• Minecraft:Data packs can now have a Minecraft:pack.png in the root folder, and will display it in the data pack menu.
