Polished blackstone needs to be broken using a pickaxe, otherwise the block drops nothing. Template:Breaking row

Polished blackstone has a slightly higher hardness (thus takes slightly longer to break) than its chiseled variant.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>

Natural generation

Polished blackstone can generate as part of Minecraft:ruined portals in Minecraft:the Nether.

Usage

Note blocks

Polished blackstone can be placed under Minecraft:note blocks to produce "bass drum" sounds.

Sulfur cube

Template:In development Minecraft:Sulfur cubes have the ability to absorb polished blackstone, either through picking it up or being interacted with it. This provides the regular/football effect to the mob when hitting it.
