The Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2955 is a 14-day ship exposition event held at StarCitizen:Orison in the StarCitizen:Stanton System. The expo is an annual event that brings ships of all different manufacturers together to be displayed at several expo halls. As in previous years, the event is coupled with a StarCitizen:free-fly event, and also offering free rentals of ships that are on display to all players. The event will traditionally also feature several new vehicle announcements.
Throughout the event, one or several manufacturers are featured on the showfloor in the game. Ships and vehicles from those manufacturers are also available in the StarCitizen:Pledge Store, giving players the opportunity to obtain vehicles that were otherwise not available throughout the rest of the year. This event is usually the largest income source from pledges in a year, and it gives funding for the game a major boost.<ref name="IAE2955">Template:Cite RSI</ref> <ref name="IAE2955FAQ">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
Free Fly
Anyone who wants to try Star Citizen can do so for FREE. The Free Fly event will start on November 20, right when the IAE event launches, and will finish on December 3. To join in, just go to the RSI website and create a free account. Once you finish, a selection of vehicles will be temporarily available on your account. After you’ve had a chance to try them out, consider visiting the IAE showhall located in the StarCitizen:Vision Center next to StarCitizen:Orison, and then head to the vehicle rental terminals to check out more vehicle options.<ref name="IAE2955FAQ"/>
Showhall displays
In contrast to prior years, during which the hall exhibits varied among different manufacturers on separate days, this year's event will feature consistent displays from day one through day nine. On day ten, the exhibition will showcase the four vehicle in this years Best In Show event. The vehicles on display are as follows;
Grey of StarCitizen:Grey's Market did his own tagalong Exposition back at StarCitizen:Grim HEX (StarCitizen:Crusader), where a StarCitizen:Shiv is on display an was available for rent the 23rd and 24th of November and the 29th of the same to the 3rd of December.

Stock limited ships
The event also features sales of stock limited ships on the StarCitizen:Pledge Store. These ships are considered 'exclusive' and are therefore only sold in limited quantities over a small period of time. Each stock-limited ship is limited to 1 per account and will be available in several waves.<ref name="IAE2955FAQ"/>

Vehicle renting
In this years event, there will be a series of StarCitizen:Traveler Rentals terminals aligning the walls of the hallway just prior to the main hall area. Here, you can rent all the vehicles available in the game from each manufacturer for a period of 48 hours. The rental schedule outlined below alternates between manufacturers at 16:00 UTC each day.<ref name="IAE2955FAQ"/>
Best in Show
This event succeeds the annual StarCitizen:Ship Showdown. During the showdown, backers were able to vote on their favorite ship in each round during the month of September. The winning ships of this year were the StarCitizen:Polaris, followed by the StarCitizen:Asgard, StarCitizen:Zeus Mk II ES, StarCitizen:Gladiator. These ships will be highlighted at the expo on the 10th day.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
In order to qualify for the paints, it is essential that the designated Best in Show ships, rather than their variants, are present in your web-hangar at the conclusion of IAE.<ref name="IAE2955FAQ"/>
For the first time ever, the paints from all previous years Best in Show were made available again. All StarCitizen:IAE 2949 Best in Show ships had their paints offered standalone from a unique variant with this years event.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>

The Polaris will be awarded a collectible in-game championship pennant to celebrate the honor of being the champion of this year's Ship Showdown.<ref name="IAE2955FAQ"/>

There is clothing available at the event location lobby. Along with the below shirts and hats, an assortment of manufacturer specific shirts and hats are also available. All the below items are also available on the StarCitizen:Pledge Store as part of the "IAE 2955 Gear Pack" for $8.00 (plus tax).<ref name="IAE2955"/>

Twitch drops
In celebration of IAE 2955 and the introduction of Alpha 4.4: Welcome to Nyx, CIG is hosting its inaugural StarCitizen:Twitch drops event. From November 20 to December 3, backers must watch any Star Citizen stream that has Drops enabled for a cumulative duration of four hours to receive the Geist 'Epoque' Armor Set for free.<ref name="IAE2955Twitch">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
