A university is an institution of higher education and centre of research within the StarCitizen:United Empire of Earth (UEE). While many are centred on the education-dominated StarCitizen:Rhetor system, several other developed systems also have universities, and some planets have numerous Universities. This page also includes Service Academies, which are military institutions that grant degrees.
Universities of the Rhetor system
Rhetor was discovered in 2287, making it the second extrasolar system to be visited after Croshaw, and the first system known two jumps away from the StarCitizen:Sol system. The StarCitizen:Croshaw - Rhetor Jump Point was discovered by students from StarCitizen:Martian Institute of Space and Technology. The school's then-president StarCitizen:Adrianne Zemlock , a critic of the way that Croshaw had been colonised by corporate interests, ransomed the Jump Point location to the government in return for a quarter of the habitable or terraformed land being set aside for educational purposes.<ref name=":42">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
Today the system is synonymous with higher education, and is home to a number of prestigious institutions, including:
- University of Persei - a collegiate system of several colleges and research institutes,<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref> including the famed StarCitizen:University of Persei Analytical Research and Quantification, an institution with close ties to classified governmental research.<ref name=":42"/>
- StarCitizen:Carey University - home institution of StarCitizen:Maze researchers StarCitizen:Eva Anwar and StarCitizen:Brian Ramsey.<ref name=":62">Template:Cite RSI</ref><ref name=":72">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
- StarCitizen:University of Rhetor - a prestigious institution of education whose alumni include founders and CEOs of StarCitizen:Caldera,<ref name=":16">Template:Cite RSI</ref> StarCitizen:Greycat Industrial,<ref name=":32">Template:Cite RSI</ref> and StarCitizen:Esperia.<ref name=":22">Template:Cite RSI</ref>

Universities of the Sol system
As the home system of mankind, Sol is home to numerous ancient and prestigious institutions of higher education on both StarCitizen:Earth and StarCitizen:Mars.
This institutions in the Sol system include:
- StarCitizen:University of Earth at Australia - credited with the discovery and study of the StarCitizen:Vasli Fragment Stone,<ref name=":104">Template:Cite RSI</ref> also a centre for medical research.<ref name=":0">Template:Cite Jump Point</ref>
- StarCitizen:University of Moscow - home to the exolinguistics department tasked with studying the StarCitizen:Vanduul language.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
- StarCitizen:Martian Institute of Space and Technology - located in Port Renatus,<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref> credited with starting the StarCitizen:Second Nuclear Age<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref> and the discovery of the StarCitizen:Rhetor system.<ref name=":42"/>

Universities of Terra

As the jewel of the Eastern Empire, Terra is home to numerous large cities and thus several Universities, including:
- StarCitizen:Prime Linguistics Institute - commissioned to duplicate the StarCitizen:Vasli Fragment Stone<ref name=":104"/>
- StarCitizen:Terra University - attended by the founders of StarCitizen:Drake Interplanetary and StarCitizen:Chemline Solutions<ref name=":132">Template:Cite Jump Point</ref>
- StarCitizen:Song University - named for discoverer of Terra StarCitizen:Wei-Yin Song, famed for Banu cultural studies.<ref name=":82">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
- StarCitizen:Quasi Institute for Xenological Studies - located in StarCitizen:Quasi, the site of significant alien ruins.<ref name=":104"/>
Universities of Jata, Cestulus (Davien II)
StarCitizen:Jata, the iconic city of Cestulus (Davien II), is home to at least two Universities.
Astravin University at Cestulus (AUC)
StarCitizen:Astravin University at Cestulus (AUC) is a public research university in StarCitizen:Jata on Cestulus (Davien II) and the flagship campus of the StarCitizen:Astravin University system. Founded in 2520, AUC survived Cestulus' difficult colonial period and expanded during the planet's economic reversal in the 27th century. It is the largest university in the StarCitizen:Davien system and features an StarCitizen:oshi fish as its mascot.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
University of Jata
The StarCitizen:University of Jata is located in the city of StarCitizen:Jata on Cestulus (Davien II). StarCitizen:Simone Maruyama is a Professor of History at the University of Jata, and a member of the Jata Historical Society’s Board of Directors, who proposed naming a city park after controversial former StarCitizen:Aegis Dynamics CEO StarCitizen:Hana Chan.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
Universities of Saisei (Centauri III)
Saisei (Centauri III) is home to at least three Universities, with associated research bases on Yar (Centauri II).
Fujin City School for the Arts
The StarCitizen:Fujin City School for the Arts is best known for the group of seven students who founded StarCitizen:CC's Conversions, an armor customization business.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
Fujin Technical College
StarCitizen:Fujin Technical College (FTC) is an institute of higher education located in StarCitizen:Fujin City on Saisei (Centauri III). FTC offers a variety of training courses, and is most notable for its Certification in Arts and Design. The school itself was designed to blend seamlessly with Fujin City’s natural environment.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
University of Saisei
The StarCitizen:University of Saisei is located on Saisei (Centauri III). It restored a former terraforming station on Yar (Centauri II) as a research outpost in 2501. The parents of StarCitizen:Kayva Crosby were employed to run the facility's landing pad. Kayva was born shortly after their arrival in 2503. In 2518, biotech expert StarCitizen:Meredith Douze joined the outpost with her son, StarCitizen:Aaron Douze. After returning to Saisei at the age of 17, Aaron studied business at the University, followed by Kayva who studied engineering: the two later marry, and founded StarCitizen:Tumbril Land Systems.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>

Aydo Polytechnic
StarCitizen:Aydo Polytechnic, located on StarCitizen:Green, is a Polytechnic University that offers degrees in engineering, applied sciences and Fine Arts.<ref name="jp0905">Template:Cite Jump Point</ref> One of its alumni was Marana River, founder of the StarCitizen:Imperial Arts Foundation.<ref name="jp0905" />
University of Aten
The StarCitizen:University of Aten, located on Serling (Horus I), is conducting a lengthy study in an attempt to isolate the differences between people who flourish in the unusual daylight conditions of the tidally-locked worlds (often those in families who have lived on the planet for generations) versus those who have trouble adjusting.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
University of Angeli
The StarCitizen:University of Angeli is located on Angeli (Croshaw II). StarCitizen:August Dunlow, founder of StarCitizen:Crusader Industries, studied a double-major in business and political science. While at the University he became a staunch Anti-Messer activist.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
University of Jalan
The StarCitizen:University of Jalan is located on the StarCitizen:Tevarin homeworld of Jalan (Elysium IV). Nutrition researchers at Jalan developed the StarCitizen:Hydration Efficacy Index.<ref>General Nutrition Content Journal - Alpha 3.9.0</ref> StarCitizen:Jovi Ingstrom, co-founder of StarCitizen:Esperia, studied xenoarcheology at Jalan until being expelled in his sophomore year.<ref name=":22"/>
University of Lo New Junction (ULON)
The University of Lo New Junction is located the city of StarCitizen:New Junction, on StarCitizen:Lo, in the StarCitizen:Corel system. It was founded in 2859 thanks to a large donation from StarCitizen:Shubin Interstellar.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref> StarCitizen:Desmond Fell, the re-discoverer of the StarCitizen:Branaugh system, obtained a dual degree in geotechnology and political discourse to help fulfill his lifelong dream of discovering a planetary system.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
University of Tram
The StarCitizen:University of Tram, located in StarCitizen:Tram on Asura (Ferron III), was attended by StarCitizen:Basilisk founder StarCitizen:Simone Visconti, where she studied engineering. The programme was considered notably less prestigious than that of the institution she left, at StarCitizen:UPARQ.<ref name=":5">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
Service Academies
A Service Academy is an educational establishment that provide undergraduate education to commissioned officers.
The United Empire of Earth Naval Flight Academy (UNFA) is a coeducational service academy located on StarCitizen:MacArthur (Kilian V). Established in 2632, it is one of the oldest of the StarCitizen:UEE's service academies. It educates officers for commissioning into the StarCitizen:UEE Navy. Most graduates of the UNFA go on to the various combat squadrons in the Navy, but others may pilot capital or support vessels.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
