A wooden sword can also be used to destroy some blocks quicker than with fists. All swords have the same mining speed, so the wooden sword is just as useful for breaking blocks as any other sword.
If an wooden sword is enchanted with [[Minecraft:Silk Touch]], either using [[Minecraft:Creative]] or [[Minecraft:commands]], it can be used to obtain a cobweb as an item by breaking it.

Template:For Template:Redirect Template:Infobox item A wooden sword is an early-game variant of Minecraft:sword crafted from Minecraft:planks. It is the sixth-highest Minecraft:tier of sword, dealing the same damage as a Minecraft:golden sword but having more durability. It can be used as Minecraft:fuel in a Minecraft:furnace, Minecraft:smoker, or Minecraft:blast furnace.

Obtaining

Wooden swords are crafted with two Minecraft:planks of any kind and one Minecraft:stick.

Crafting

Template:Crafting

Usage

Attacking

Pressing Template:Control while holding a wooden sword inflicts damage on both mobs and other players. Upon damaging a mob or player, the wooden sword's Minecraft:durability decreases by 1.

Attacking a Minecraft:boat or a Minecraft:minecart with a wooden sword requires 2 hits in Template:In, without decreasing the wooden sword's durability.

Sweep attack

Template:Exclusive If the player is grounded, is not performing a Minecraft:sprint-knockback attack, and has an attack charge of 84.8% or above, the wooden sword performs a sweep attack. Sweep attacks are indicated by a gale Minecraft:particle that reaches nearby enemies for Template:Hp and knocks them back. All enemies within a 1 by 0.25 by 1 block area of any part of the attacked mob and whose feet are 3 or less blocks away from player's feet are affected by the sweep. Sweep attacks play a unique sound effect, and the amount of knockback inflicted by them is 80% of the base knockback. The Minecraft:Sweeping Edge enchantment increases the sweep attack's damage to surrounding entities from a set Template:Hp to 50% of the wooden sword's base damage for level I, 67% for level II and 75% for level III. If the wooden sword is enchanted, the enchantments are carried over into the sweep to apply to surrounding mobs.
