Way of the Nether is a free Minecraft:Marketplace map developed by Razzleberries that promotes the Minecraft:Nether Update.<ref>Template:Mcnet</ref> The map is a sequel to Minecraft:Way of the Bee, picking up where it left off and featuring a new story about the characters coming into conflict with Nether mobs. The map was delisted from the Marketplace on June 18, 2024.<ref>Template:Cite</ref>

Summary

The player spawns in the hub; to start the game, they must enter the portal bearing the map's logo. The player is transported to a house, and upon exiting, they need to approach a Minecraft:villager named Bruce, who is standing by a Minecraft:ruined portal. When approached, Bruce will point out the ruined portal and ask the player to go and warn the Mayor. Now the player needs to go to the house to the left of the portal; there, a villager named Marie will meet them and say that something strange has happened to the Mayor. Next, the player needs to go into the house and go up to the second floor to take an Minecraft:iron sword, Minecraft:iron leggings, 16 blocks of Minecraft:obsidian and a Minecraft:flint and steel. And from the chest on the ground floor, you can take 3 Minecraft:firework rockets, a Minecraft:diamond, 9 Minecraft:gold nuggets, and Minecraft:leather boots. Then you need to return to the portal, finish it and activate it, and then head to the Nether.

Nether Base Camp

The player spawns at the Nether Base Camp and must approach a ruined bridge; an NPC Bridge Foreman explains that the Major crossed the bridge to the castle before a Minecraft:Ghast destroyed it, though repairs are now underway. Suddenly, the Major appears on the roof in a strange guise, declares that he has taken over the Major's body, and laughs menacingly. You can take a Minecraft:clock, a Minecraft:compass, Minecraft:iron boots, and Minecraft:arrows of Minecraft:regeneration and Minecraft:night vision from the chest next to the NPC. Then player must then speak to the Nether Scientist, who explains that to bring the Major back, one must defeat the evil force that has taken control of him and so, that means need to get ready to complete "Way of the Nether." The scientist says that no time should be lost. And you need to follow him to Minecraft:Soul Sand Valley.

Soul Sand Valley

In the Soul Sand Valley, Nether Scientist gives the player Minecraft:diamond pickaxe to obtain 8 Minecraft:netherite scraps by mining Minecraft:ancient debris. And after the obtaining, the scientist leads the player into the Minecraft:nether wastes.

Nether Wastes

At the entrance to the wastes there is a melting house with 8 Minecraft:furnaces inside, in which the player needs to smelt netherite scraps. You can get a Minecraft:trident from the chest next to the Minecraft:grindstone, and after smelting it, you need to follow the scientist to Minecraft:Basalt Deltas.

Basalt Deltas

The scientist leads the player through basalt deltas, and upon emerging at a wall of Minecraft:netherrack, the scientist suggests the player circumvent the wall while he takes some important notes. The player will need to pass through several ghasts along the way, and after passing them and meeting the scientist, he will lead the player to the Minecraft:Crimson Forest.

Crimson Forest

In the Crimson Forest, the player and the scientist must follow a path of Minecraft:warped fungus, as they repel the Minecraft:hoglins that inhabit the forest. However, the path ends along the way, as the Minecraft:piglins have stolen several funji from the path. The player must go to the cave on the left, retrieve the funji from a chest guarded by piglins, and then place the funji on the Minecraft:warped nylium. The player and the scientist walk along a path to a building with a Minecraft:crafting table, where the player must craft 2 Minecraft:netherite ingots and then climb up the Minecraft:warped vines onto a ledge to enter the Minecraft:Warped Forest.

Warped Forest

The player and the scientist follow the path to a small settlement, where they are met by the evil Major, who summons piglins and hoglins to stop the heroes. After defeating the enemies, player head to the lava river, where they must pick up a Minecraft:warped fungus on a stick and mount a Minecraft:strider to cross the river. After crossing the river, the player and the scientist reach the Minecraft:Bastion.

Bastion Remnant

At the bastion, the player must approach the Minecraft:smithing table to upgrade his Minecraft:diamond chestplate and sword to Minecraft:netherite ones, and also loot the remaining netherite equipment from the chests. Afterward, they must proceed to the bridge, but a ghast blows up the bridge, and the player must carefully cross the debris to reach the nether village.

Nether Village

While the player was crossing the bridge, the Mayor caged the Nether Scientist, and the player must rescue him. The village is filled with villagers and Minecraft:iron golems, which have become covered in Minecraft:warped fungus instead of vines. NPC Bridge Foreman gives you a Minecraft:bow and a stack of Minecraft:arrows, and the player goes to rescue the scientist. The player must shoot the target with an arrow to free the scientist. Once the scientist is freed, the Bridge Foreman approaches him while the other villagers flee, and iron golems are going to kill the hoglins around the levitation lift; the player then needs to enter the levitation lift to reach the upper level for the boss fight with Mayor.

Mayor Boss Fight

The player meets the Mayor on the roof; he claims that even Netherite armor won't help defeat him because he is invincible, and the boss fight begins. To damage the Mayor, the player must first deactivate seven Soul Soil Fires located along the sides of the tower while the Major spawns mobs: Minecraft:blazes, hoglins, piglins and Minecraft:wither skeletons. Three of the four lower fires are deactivated by pressing a Minecraft:button, while the fourth requires hitting the center of a Minecraft:target with a bow. To reach the two upper fires, the player must climb crimson and warped vines, and to reach the last one you need climb the steps. After deactivating all the fires, you must kill the evil entity that has possessed the Mayor; once it is destroyed, the Mayor returns to his normal villager form.

Ending

After defeating the evil entity, the Mayor thanks the hero for the rescue, and the Nether Scientist mentions that there is a portal at the top of the tower. Upon entering the portal, everyone returns to Poppy Island, and a "Thanks for playing" message appears on the screen. Behide to the portal, a Minecraft:blackstone building with chest appears with a distorted sign reading "WARNING only use in nether, -Scientist." Inside the chest lies a pile of Minecraft:glowstone.
