Obtaining

Looting can be obtained from Minecraft:enchanting tables, drops from mobs that have spawned in a Minecraft:raid,Template:Only books obtained by Minecraft:fishing, Minecraft:monster room chests, librarian Minecraft:villagers, and non-village Minecraft:structure loot.

Usage

Looting increases the maximum number of items for most common drops by 1 per level. Looting also increases the chance of Minecraft:rare drops and equipment drops by 1 percentage point per level.

Specific cases

If Looting is applied to a Minecraft:bow by use of Minecraft:commands or an Minecraft:anvil in Creative, the enchantment applies to mobs killed by the weapon's Minecraft:arrows. If Looting is applied to a Minecraft:crossbow by use of Minecraft:commands or an Minecraft:anvil in Creative, the enchantment applies to mobs killed by the weapon's arrows but not its Minecraft:firework rockets. If Looting is applied to a Minecraft:trident by use of Minecraft:commands or an Minecraft:anvil in Creative, the enchantment applies to mobs killed by the weapon melee attack, but not its ranged attack.
