This guide is a simplified overview of all changes in the Nether Update (Template:BE 1.16.x releases), which assumes at least some familiarity with the Buzzy Bees update (Bedrock Edition 1.14.x releases).

Mobs

  • Piglins will occasionally hunt adult hoglins, and baby piglins will ride baby hoglins.
  • Piglins will sometimes dance after a successful hunt.
  • If a Piglin is attacked all other adult piglins nearby will become aggressive towards the attacker.

  • Piglin brutes are tougher and stronger variants of piglins.

  • Piglin brutes will occasionally join other Minecraft:Piglins to hunt adult hoglins, but will never engage themselves.
  • Piglin brutes will turn into zombified piglins if in the Minecraft:Overworld or Minecraft:the End after 15 seconds.
Strider Template:Animate Nether lava lakes

Template:Drop

  • Striders can walk on top of the surface of Minecraft:lava.
  • Striders can be Minecraft:saddled, and can be controlled with warped fungi on a stick.
  • Striders can spawn with a zombified piglin or a baby strider riding on them.
  • Striders are attracted by and can be bred with warped fungi.
  • Striders shiver and turn purple outside of lava, which makes them move slower.
  • Striders are damaged by rain and Minecraft:water.
  • Striders can walk on top of other mobs as if they were solid blocks.

  • Ancient debris can be found in the Nether, but are extremely rare.
  • Never generates exposed to air, and is most common between levels 8-22.

  • Ancient debris can be used in blast-resistant doors, as it is movable by Minecraft:pistons.

  • Basalt can be found in the Nether making up basalt pillars within soul sand valley biomes.
  • Basalt deltas contain an abundance of basalt blocks, as it is one of the main blocks that form the biome.
  • Basalt is formed when lava flows over soul soil next to blue ice.

  • Basalt can be used as a decorative block.
  • Basalt can be crafted into polished basalt.
