Umbral Sands has been an empty region, with only the Dragonwilds:KotHaar being its inhabitants since the creation of Dragonwilds:Gielinor. There, they had a hard time and adjusting to the sandy region. Not until they discovered Dragonwilds:Elidinis, the goddess of fertility, growth, river, and one who is associated with the moon back in the Kharidian Desert of the main land. The goddess would look upon these poor mortals and teach them how to live within the desert. Showing them how to build, plant and even trade amongst each other. Over time, the garou would great cities, and areas are named after those within the main land, such as Alcarrid, Uzzer and Manafem. After some time, garou, not named Moon Garou, would thrive, thus having Elidinis leave Gielinor. Sometime after her departure, Fuzan had found the moon garou, and started to terrorize them for fun.

When Kuldra claimed the continent, only the Moon Garou chose to flee to Umbral Sands. For a time after that, their civilization flourished in peace. Trade flourished and their prosperity grew. That changed when Fuzan came and ravaged their civilization and razed it to ashes. When Fuzan discovered an Elder God artefact buried beneath the sands, guarded by the Kot'Haar, he bent the Kot'Haar to his will and claimed the artefact's power for himself. With the artefact's power under his control, he used its power to turn the sun over the desert into a weapon, scorching the desert, and the Moon Garou burned. Some who survived were driven into the shadows.
Eventually, while Fuzan was there, a new entity had appeared after him, the "Dragonwilds:Sun Demon". They appeared before Fuzan, claiming to be a god promising to teach them how to better wield their fire, to outshine even their own mother. Fuzan accepted and with the entity's teaching, they learned how to not only control their own flames better, but the flames of even the KotHaar. Fuzan would then use this new found power to continue his torment towards the moon garou, where he would mark them and their soul to grow in power. While the moon garou are in hiding now, the entity would recruit new followers, requesting they that worship the flames, or sun. Under her guide, those who worship the flames would be not only transformed, but live better lives. Sometime during Fuzan's reign of terror, they had cursed Dragonwilds:Dearg Due, to roam the desert. Fuzan also ordered the KotHaar to move the Lends to his tower, where he would use it to not only cast a barrier to the entrance, but to also use the lens' power, and increase the region's temperature. Soon, the region would become impossible to roam without the heat killing those who dare to brave through it. Those who are willing to brave through it night, would find Fuzan hunting with one or two Dragonwilds:Red Dragon<nowiki/>s.

Itchlarin, God of the Dead, has taken an interest in the Moon Garou's plight, but is unable to intervene directly. However, in the realm of Death, he has heard tales of dragonslayers and plans to use them to fight back against Fuzan's reign.
After the God Wars, Fuzan would continue to rule, until the Dragonwilds:Sixth Age, where the continent of Ashenfall would no longer be hidden by the veil. The Adventurer(s), who braved through Dragonwilds:Brynmoor, Dragonwilds:Ghornfell, Dragonwilds:Fellhollow, and Dragonwilds:Dowdun Reach would arrive to Umbral Sands, and with the help of Dragonwilds:Icthlarin, they would put an end to Fuzan's reign.
