Script error: No such module "Top icons". Template:Infobox NPC Guthix was the god of balance and one of the first beings to arrive on Dragonwilds:Gielinor. He was a Naragi, a race of intelligent humanoid people, and the only member of the race to survive the God War of his home. This event caused him to detest divine beings, believing that worlds could only survive without divine influence.

During the year 182 of the Dragonwilds:Fifth Age, Guthix was slain by a mahjarrat named Sliske, and appointed a new Guardian of Guthix, the World Guardian. His death marked the beginning of the Dragonwilds:Sixth Age in Gielinor and the return of most gods, which he banished at the end of the Gielinorian God Wars. In the 10th year of the Sixth Age, Dragonwilds:Zamorak decided to invade Gielinor with an demonic army, here a new Edict was created, one that no longer required someone to maintain, banishing the majority of the gods once more.

Followers

Through out the history of Gielinor, Guthix has had a number of followers all across Gielinor. Within Dragonwilds:Ashenfall, most of his followers were left behind after a number of them attempted to kill all of the Dragonwilds:Amalgamated humans, being abandoned by their god, some of the Guthixians were converted into Saradominism, while a few remains loyal, in hope that they would be forgiven. Some that stayed behind would be appointed as Dragonwilds:Wild Knights. Within the mainland, other humans, dwarves, gnomes, fairies and other races would continue to worship the god.

Journal

The following text is transcribed from the Journal.
There are few gods with a heart so heavy as that of Guthix. Born to the world of Naragun, which was destroyed by warring gods, he achieved ascension in an act of grief-ridden vengeance and has regretted that decision ever since.

He was the first god to discover Dragonwilds:Gielinor and the powerful anima flow within it, and he used this power to grow stronger. Yet, it was when he discovered the Stone of Jas, a powerful artefact and tool of the Elder Gods, that Guthix would become the legendary figure that he is.

The god of balance slept through the God Wars, only waking to be reminded of the danger that gods represent. He created a powerful barrier to banish the gods, keeping them from returning to this world.

For a time Dragonwilds:Gielinor was safe and Guthix slept beneath the ground, drawing power from the anima.

Ancient and full of a deep grief, Guthix had come to believe that a world could only be safe if there were no gods left to rule it, and he laid out the path for his own end. He was slain by the Mahjarrat Sliske, which brought an end to the Fifth Age and ushered in the return of the gods.

For a time the world fell into chaos, until powerful heroes forged an alliance and created Edicts of their own, banishing the gods and leaving Gielinor, once more, in the hands of mortals.
