Minecraft:Plains

Template:Infobox biome The plains are common grassland Minecraft:biomes in the Minecraft:Overworld with wide, open terrain and Minecraft:flowers.

Generation

Plains are the second-most common Overworld biome after Minecraft:forests, covering about 10.2% of its area. This is due to both their abundance and their potential to grow very large. They generate across a broad range of moderate temperatures when humidity is low to moderate.

The terrain varies widely, from small islands and expansive flatlands to rolling hills and steeper ground where they transition into Minecraft:meadows, Minecraft:snowy slopes, or windswept biomes. They most often border forests, Minecraft:savannas, Minecraft:sparse jungles, Minecraft:flower forests, Minecraft:sunflower plains, or Minecraft:dappled forests. Because plains have a wide temperature range, they can transition into Minecraft:mangrove swamps, Minecraft:badlands, Minecraft:deserts, or Minecraft:snowy plains.

Beneath inland plains, Minecraft:dripstone caves are common, whereas Minecraft:sulfur caves and Minecraft:ice cavesTemplate:Upcoming are less abundant. The Minecraft:deep dark sometimes generates where erosion is low, especially near elevated terrain and Minecraft:mountains.

Description

Plains are grassy with few terrain features, creating a wide, open view. Many of the Minecraft:grass blocks are covered in Minecraft:short grass or Minecraft:tall grass, with many different Minecraft:flowers. Oak Minecraft:trees generate sometimes; Template:Frac are large, while Template:Frac have Minecraft:bees and Minecraft:bee nests.

Some occasional large patches of flowers grow various colors of Minecraft:tulips. Along with Minecraft:flower forests, plains are the only places where tulips generate. Minecraft:Oxeye daisies, Minecraft:cornflowers, Minecraft:dandelions, Minecraft:poppies, and Minecraft:azure bluets, sporadically generate within the plains. Minecraft:Bushes also generate in small patches of plain fields.

Minecraft:Villages generate in plains, using oak Minecraft:planks and Minecraft:logs. Minecraft:Pillager outposts can generate here as well.

Minecraft:Horses and Minecraft:donkeys spawn in plains biomes, as well as hostile Minecraft:zombie horses during the nighttime. Common temperate Minecraft:animal variants also spawn.
