Template:Redirect Template:Infobox item A leather capTemplate:Fn is a variant of Minecraft:helmet that is crafted from Minecraft:leather. It is the eighth-highest tier of helmet, having the lowest armor points and durability. Like all leather armor, it can be Minecraft:dyed and protects the wearer from freezing.

Mob loot

Minecraft:Zombies, Minecraft:husks, skeletons, strays, and bogged have a small chance to spawn wearing armor, which may include a leather cap. There is a 8.5% chance (9.5% with Looting I, 10.5% with Looting II and 11.5% with Looting III) for the mob to drop the cap they're wearing upon death. The dropped cap is usually badly damaged, and may be enchanted with enchantment levels 5-19.

Armor trimming

It is possible to upgrade armor with trims. This requires a smithing template, a leather cap, and an ingot or crystal (iron ingot, copper ingot, gold ingot, netherite ingot, Minecraft:emerald, redstone dust, lapis lazuli, amethyst shard, nether quartz, Minecraft:diamond, or resin brick).

These trims have no effect on the gameplay or strength of the armor. Template:Smithing
