Template:Infobox guide This guide is a simplified overview of all the Changed in the Minecraft:Discovery Update (Template:BE 1.1.x releases), which assumes at least some familiarity with the Minecraft:Ender Update (Bedrock Edition 1.0.x releases).

Mobs

Minecraft:Llama	Template:Animate	Spawn in mountains.	Template:Xp (when killed by a Minecraft:player or tamed Minecraft:wolf) Anything equipped, such as Template:BlockLink or a Template:BlockLink.	Provide a slightly less expensive item transport system.

Two kinds of Illagers are introduced: evokers and vindicators.

Minecraft:Concrete		It is a block created when concrete powder touches water.	Can be obtained by any Minecraft:pickaxe.	Decoration.
Minecraft:Concrete powder			Concrete powder can be mined by hand or any tool, but mining is fastest using a Minecraft:shovel.	Makes concrete.
Minecraft:Glazed terracotta			Can only be mined with a pickaxe.	Decoration.
Minecraft:Shulker boxes	Template:Animate		Shulker boxes can be destroyed using any tool or with bare hands, but using a Minecraft:pickaxe is fastest.	New container. The contents of the container will be retained after destruction. Can be used to save storage space on the rest of the containers.
Minecraft:Frosted ice	Template:Animate	Spawns walking on water using shoes with Minecraft:Frost Walker.	Mining with a tool enchanted with Minecraft:Silk Touch will drop nothing, while destroying frost ice in other ways will turn it into Minecraft:water.	Breaks after a few seconds, allowing players to create temporarily bridges across water.
Minecraft:Magma block	File:Magma Block BE1.gif	Naturally generated in the Nether.	Magma blocks can be mined with any kind of Minecraft:pickaxe. If mined without a pickaxe, it will not drop items.	Causes damage to non-nether creatures standing on top of it.
Minecraft:Bone block	Template:Animate	Occurs naturally as part of Minecraft:fossil.	Bone blocks can be mined with any pickaxe. If mined without a pickaxe, it will drop no items.	Can be used to store Minecraft:bone meal.
Minecraft:Nether wart block	File:Nether Wart Block JE1 BE1.png		Nether wart blocks can be harvested using any tool or with bare hands.	100% non-disassembly, therefore for decorative purposes only.
Minecraft:Red nether bricks	File:Red Nether Bricks JE1 BE1.png		Red nether bricks can be mined with any pickaxe. If mined without a pickaxe, nothing will be dropped.	Can be used as decoration.

Minecraft:Bed	Template:Animate	Can now be dyed into 16 colors and has a slight bounce effect when jumping. New sleep animate will slowly put you to sleep.
Minecraft:Carpet	Template:Animate	Changed textures.
Minecraft:Cobweb	File:Cobweb JE1 BE1.png	Minecraft:Cobweb can be disassembled into 9 Minecraft:string.
Minecraft:Terracotta	Template:Animate	Undyed hardened clay is now called "terracotta". Already dyed It's called "red terracotta."
Minecraft:Melon	File:Melon JE1 BE1.png	Using Minecraft:shears to destroy the melon will drop 9 Minecraft:melon slices.
Minecraft:Wool	Template:Animate	Changed textures and colors.

Minecraft:Totem of undying	File:Totem of Undying JE1 BE1.png	Dropped by Minecraft:evoker.	Provide rescue when the player's health is exhausted.
Minecraft:Iron nugget	File:Iron Nugget JE1 BE1.png	Generates naturally in loot chests. Obtained by smelting iron tools and iron armor.	Can synthesize Minecraft:iron ingot.
Minecraft:Spawn eggs	Template:Animate	Can only be obtained from the creative mode inventory or using commands.	Can generate corresponding creatures.

Minecraft:Tools		Iron tools and gold tools can now be smelted into Minecraft:iron nuggets and Minecraft:gold nuggets respectively.
Minecraft:Map	File:Empty Map JE1 BE1.png File:Map (item) JE1 BE1.png	Now that the maps are numbered, you can tell which map is which. Minecraft:Empty map with a compass is now renamed to locator to distinguish it from an empty map without a compass.
Minecraft:Spawn eggs	Template:Animate	Updated textures for Husks, Shulkers, Silverfish, Wanderers and Zombie Horse spawn eggs.
