Minecraft:Smarter Watch

The smarter watch was an offhand Minecraft:item present in the April Fools' snapshot Minecraft:1.RV-Pre1.

Obtaining

Mob loot

Minecraft:Zombies, zombie villagers and Minecraft:skeletons could spawn with it in their offhand slot. They had a chanceTemplate:More info to drop it when killed by the player.

Usage

Smarter watches were "equipped" by holding them in the offhand slot. While equipped, they displayed the current time above the hotbar, in minutes and seconds, with one minute of in-game time being 5/6 of a real-time second, and one in-game hour being 5/6 of a real-time minute or 50 seconds.

The smarter watch also notified the player of taken Minecraft:damage and Minecraft:statistics milestones.

When the player had taken damage, the message said:

Notice! You recently took <amount of damage taken> half hearts of damage!

When the player had achieved a statistic, the message said:

Notice! [<Statistic>] is now <number>!

Notice! [[<Item>]<Action>] is now <number>!

Some statistic notifications do not differentiate between different items, appearing as the same item: items sharing numeric ID only differing in block state (wool, stained glass, tall grass, planks, logs, sponge and others show up as the item with block state of 0), pumpkins and jack o' lanterns, killed mobs (show up as [stat.entityKill] ), picked up items (show up as [Picked Up]).

• The damage notification shows how Minecraft:guardian laser beams deal 1 point of magic damage and the rest of melee damage by having it as 2 separate notifications.
