Dragonwilds:Wild Knights
More actions
The Wild Knights were an order of scouts who served Dragonwilds:Guthix, roaming the wild areas of Dragonwilds:Ashenfall. Their primary task was to act as guardians, protecting both the people of Ashenfall from the dangers of the wilderness and the wilderness itself from the encroachment of civilization. They were renowned for their ability to traverse treacherous terrain, and their hunting skills were said to be unmatched, even by the Dragonwilds:Garou.
Equipment
Most Wild Knights favored Dragonwilds:studded leather armour over traditional plate metal, valuing stealth and agility, which were essential for moving through the dense forests.Template:CiteJournal Their archers, in particular, were known for their specialized leather attire, which was designed with carefully laid folds to offer protection. A key part of their daily ritual was to maintain their armour, ensuring it always looked pristine. The archers' helms were crafted to focus their vision, eliminating all distractions so they could give their complete attention to a target.Template:CiteJournal
Known for being quick, silent, and lethal, the archers of the Wild Knights often worked alone. They would stalk their prey for days, whether it was a monster or a person, as dictated by the order's commands. Their motto was simple: to harm the wilds was to make yourself a target.Template:CiteJournal
When the Wild Knights were brought into the war against the Garou, their leather armour presented a new challenge due to its distinctive smell. The Garou's heightened sense of smell allowed them to track the knights from a distance. To counter this, the knights learned to use wind to their advantage, always walking against it to mask their scent. Wild mages would also use air spells to constantly change the breeze's direction, a tactic that became a key part of their training.Template:CiteJournal
Only one Wild Knight wielded an Dragonwilds:abyssal whip in vengeance against the demon for a fallen sibling. Despite her name being forgotten, there are still creatures hiding in the shadows, afraid that she may come back with her whip.Template:CiteJournal
Despite their hunting prowess and effectiveness against the Garou, the Wild Knights' studded leather armour had a critical vulnerability. After the war, an order of assassins known as the Glass Knives began to target them. These assassins exploited the gaps in the studded leather, using poisoned daggers to end the lives of many Wild Knights. The Glass Knives considered the knights' unique ways a greater threat than the dragons that had recently appeared in the realm.Template:CiteJournal
